Preparations for the InSitu Festival are well under way, led by three volunteers: icons Jill @jill.hollings Ken @kenhsnell and heather @rivendellworkshop . . They’re building entire sets, props and imaginary worlds at the Small Arms Building all for InSitu: the Storied Edition. We’re back with a FREE Art for All workshop for all ages! This month’s theme: Sounds of Nature, inspired by Francisco Eme: Future Rituals & La eco-resistencia! February 1 | 12:00–2:00pm You’ll explore sound, texture, and the natural world by creating handmade noise makers. Adorn your work with natural and found materials to experiment with rhythm, movement, and sound. This sensory-focused activity invites artists of all ages to think about how everyday materials can be transformed into expressive tools, and how art can be heard as much as it is seen. In this workshop, participants created and performed sound pieces and compositions using transmission, resonance, and vibration. Led by sound artist and composer Anju Singh, the workshop featured tools, instruments, techniques, and approaches that she had been researching to create her UNSOUND RESILIENCE installation, which opened at Two Rivers Gallery. PAC’s closing reception for Crafting Curiosity ended with a special sound performance by exhibiting artist Chris Kallmyer, activating the bells he designed and fabricated for the exhibition. Developed over several months, these sculptural instruments filled the gallery with a collective sound work in front of a packed house, a perfect way to close the exhibition! Art Space is Whole Earth Festival’s outdoor art gallery for community members to display their work. All ages and skill levels are welcome! What happens when a group of strangers starts creating sound together? A little dream is coming to life on **APRIL 4** at @factoryfusionhub When I first stepped into this beautiful space, the idea came so clearly to me: to create a **PARTICIPATORY SOUND LABOTORY** where voices become the instrument and the atmosphere is shaped together. As a sound artist and vocalist, this is something I’ve been dreaming of exploring, a space where simple sounds, curiosity, and presence turn into a living soundscape. I’ll be improvising live with whatever emerges from the group. This will be the **first time I offer this experience**, and I’m so excited to explore it with you. If you’re shy, that’s completely okay. No one will be forced to share their voice. But you might discover, in the midst of it all, that it feels safe to let it out. No singing experience needed.
