This is one of the biggest misunderstandings in M.E/CFS recovery. Energy is not the starting point. It’s the outcome. When you stop using energy as the benchmark and start focusing on: • strength • stamina • capacity Your body can actually adapt and rebuild. That’s when energy returns — naturally, over time. If you want help progressing without making symptoms worse, comment PROGRESS and I’ll send you the free training 🤍 @cfshealth
I wish I could honestly say that my recovery was simple; and fast. I’m sure that’s an easier pitch for some to claim. But it wasn’t fast. And it wasn’t easy. It was the hardest, most complex thing I’ve ever done. It took time. It required flipping all my tools on their head. I couldn’t go after or hunt down or accomplish recovery; that only pushed it beyond my reach. I had to allow it to happen, and I was absolutely awful at allowing anything at all. I was a doer. A getter. A go-er. Not an allow-er. Recovery required building a lot of new habits and removing quite a few old ones. It was as a result, transformational. Even now, I am very wary of anyone who says otherwise, especially those who say it was all quick and easy once they found a magic tool. In two weeks, my summer “Study and Support” coaching cohort begins for my program, “The Edison Effect.”. I only offer group coaching seasonally. So this is a somewhat rare moment to work closely with me. Unlike programs out there that either are “umbrella” programs not specific to MECFS, or those who choose one approach as THE approach to MECFS, my program is the most comprehensive on the market; giving you all the information in one place known about this illness, all the tools for recovery, in an easy to digest manner, prioritizing what to do first, and allowing you to navigate the four pillars as needed for your unique body. protect your community and yourself 👍🏻 viral infections like covid, mono, the flu, etc. are the leading cause of disabling chronic illnesses like POTS, ME/CFS, etc. you are not invincible!

For years, Chris lived with exhaustion so deep it felt impossible to recover. But his breakthrough didn’t come from pushing harder… It came from understanding what his body was trying to protect him from. When fear softened and awareness grew, his nervous system changed — and so did his life. The insight that began his recovery led him to create the FreeMe app, now helping others do the same. 🎥 Watch the full conversation on my YouTube channel 🔗 Try FreeMe via The Pain Habit: https://freemehealth.com/getapp?source=ThePainHabit What part of his story resonates most with you? #ThePainHabit #MECFSRecovery #ChronicFatigue #FreeMeApp

Recovery from ME/CFS is a controversial question that often divides the community, it really comes down to how we define recovery, versus healing. Many believe recovery means simply getting your function back: being able to work, travel, and do the things you used to enjoy. But recovery can happen without full healing - which means the root causes, like stress and emotional patterns, may still be there, risking relapse. Healing goes deeper. It’s about creating a new way of living that truly supports your body and soul, not just returning to the old life that may have contributed to your illness in the first place. I’d love to hear your thoughts on recovery, and if you’ve noticed a difference between recovery and healing in your journey? When a reader who suffers from ME/CFS nominated me for the lemon challenge, I had never heard of it. I had, however heard of the disease, as a dear friend of mine has suffered from it for years. Biting into the lemon symbolizes a brief moment of shock and discomfort, but many people with ME suffer every single day. Join me in donating to MECFS research to support all those who suffer with this debilitating condition. #mecfsawareness #lemonchallengemecfs T.ly/lemonchallenge I nominate my beautiful friend @zannahjulia and my amazing author colleague @ryanschowwriter to bite the lemon next.
👉 What if calming your nervous system starts with something unexpected…admitting that you’re not actually okay? So many of us have learned to wear a mask, to fake ‘fine’ just to make it through the day. But in reality, this quiet pretending that many of us have gotten so good at, often does way more harm than good. 🤒 👀 🎓 Join me in Brain Retraining 101 program — an ongoing support for ME/CFS and Long Covid recovery 💬 Live support calls EVERY Friday 🌟 One-time purchase, no subscriptions 👉 Link’s in my bio! #chronicillnessawareness #chronicfatiguesyndrome #recoverystories #recoveryjourney #MECFS #CFS #millionsmissing #mecfs #chronicpain #chronicillness #mecfsrecovery #chronicpainwarrior #longhauler #longcovid # postcovid #recoveryispossible #recovery #cfsrecovery #chronicfatigue #cfs #fatigue #recoverystory #braintraining
A mistake I see a lot of my clients make when trying to recover from chronic fatigue is something that comes naturally to “type As” and they don’t even realise it is hindering their recovery… 👇 As soon as they feel a bit better or have more energy, they start doing all of the things they “need to catch up on”... i.e adulting things/chores (dishes, washing, cleaning etc)… until they hit a wall of fatigue again. And do you know what they didn’t use their energy for!? Fun! Play, pleasure, nature, connection, creativity. Things that fill you up and are energy-giving. Things that are healing. You got into this state of nervous system dysregulation because you were spending all your time doing, pushing, ignoring your bodies wants and needs, ignoring your inner child, not doing what your authentic self wants to do, not making time for rest and play. So if the first thing you’re going to do when you get energy back is go straight into patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism, achieving, “doing”, pushing because your mind says you “should” or “have to” then your bodies not going to give you that energy back 😅 If you want your energy to return, you need to show your body you are doing things differently now! You are making time for rest and play. Filling up your cup first before giving to others or doing all the things. Yes, there are always things that need to get done, but it’s about making rest and play just as much as a priority as the things on your to-do list. Not waiting until your list is done (because the list never ends!). And it’s about learning to approach the things we need to do in a lighter, more playful way instead of making everything so serious and like a chore. (Hello dancing and singing while doing the dishes! 💃😁) Prioritise your pleasure and play over the boring adult stuff (or find a balance) and watch how your energy lasts longer when you’re investing it into things that fill you up rather than drain you ✨ Comment a funny emoji below if this is you 👀 (let’s have fun!) #mindbody #mecfs #cfsrecovery #mecfsrecovery
"With pacing, it is virtually impossible to stay fully present. There's so much grief about what you can't or don't do, just to get though the next hour or minute ..." In this video, Hollis Mickey, who lives with severe ME, shares how the energy management needed for survival can also feel like a profound loss. #UnitedForME #MECFS #SevereME @solve_cfs
