This weekend owes me NOTHING, & it was what I needed. I met so many black women that was willing to collaborate. Today, I networked like my life depended on it. 😊 Thank you @iamnekesa_ for not pulling me into this world, but for sharing visions that I didn't broaden my scope to see. I look forward to collabing in the future. Scientists, manufacturers, chemists, marketing & packaging entrepreneurs.....all lead by black women, MASTERMINDS! The rooms were powerful & humble, fulfilling & a delight. I gave myself a few days before putting words to Day 3 of the Black Beauty STEMinist Summit… and honestly, I’m still carrying it with me. What happened in that room wasn’t just the close to a “successful event.” It was alignment. It was intention. It was excellence on full display. The conversations had depth. The connections had purpose. And the energy? It didn’t end when the room cleared, it followed us out. To close in the presence of leadership like the President of Bronner Brothers and the C-suite of Pattern was a reminder that this work isn’t just powerful, it’s being seen, valued, and affirmed at the highest levels. This didn’t happen by chance. Leyte Winfield didn’t just plan a summit. She built a space where vision moved. Where ideas turned into momentum. Where impact was undeniable. Today in our Black Legacy Series, NSBWM member Te’Arika Harris highlights Hadiyah-Nicole Green, a pioneering medical physicist and cancer researcher. 👩🏽‍🔬✨ Dr. Green developed a groundbreaking cancer treatment using laser-activated nanoparticles that can destroy cancer cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed. Inspired by the loss of family members to cancer, she has dedicated her work to creating safer and more accessible treatments. Still taking in what this weekend meant. Being at the Black Beauty STEMinist Summit at @Spelman_College felt like standing in the future of beauty and science at the same time. Rooms filled with intention, energy, and women who are not just learning the industry but preparing to shape it. Co-hosting the Mixing Creams Mix Masters workshop was one of those moments for me. Watching participants move from concept to creation, asking the right questions, thinking like formulators in real time, that is the work. That is how this industry grows. I was especially proud to see @bwiccinc on display and connect with so many women who are looking for community, guidance, and space to belong in cosmetic chemistry. That part never gets old. Thank you to @LeyteWinfield and the entire BBS Spelman team for building something this intentional. You are not just creating programs, you are building pathways.
