Here’s an easy naan recipe for the next time you make Indian food at home. Full instructions and a recipe for tandoori chicken to go along with it are up now on YouTube. RECIPE ▪170g (3/4c) beer, slightly warmed to 90°F ▪350g (3c) all-purpose flour ▪5g (1t) coarse salt ▪8g (2t) granulated sugar ▪7g (2t) instant yeast ▪15g (1T) olive oil ▪75g (1/3c) yogurt ▪125g (2/3c) ghee or butter ▪30g (6 cloves) garlic, minced ▪5-8g (2-3T) fresh cilantro, chopped 1. In a small saucepan, heat the beer to about 90°F. Don’t overheat it. 2. In the warmed beer, stir in the yeast, olive oil, and yogurt until combined. Some lumps of yogurt are fine. 3. In a food processor, add the flour, salt, and sugar. Pulse until evenly combined. 4. With the food processor running, drizzle in the beer-yogurt mixture. Continue processing until the dough forms a cohesive ball. 5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 2 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth. 6. Place the dough in a bowl, cover with a lid or damp towel, and let rest for 20 minutes. 7. Divide the rested dough into 4 equal portions (about 150g each). Pre-shape each portion by folding the sides in and rounding into a ball. Let the dough relax for 10 minutes. 8. On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a naan shape, about 10” (25cm) in diameter and 1/8” (.3cm) thick. 9. In a small pan, melt the ghee or butter over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn. Stir in the chopped cilantro. Remove from heat. 10. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Place one rolled-out naan in the skillet and cook for about 90 seconds, until bubbles form and golden spots appear. Flip and cook for another 90 seconds to 2 minutes. 11. Immediately after cooking, brush the naan with the garlic butter mixture. Repeat the process with the remaining naans. #naan #garlicnaan #naanrecipe #indianfood

Save my recipe for Garlic Naan! It’s so crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Perfect pairing with my butter chicken or tikka masala recipes. Ingredients are 2 tbsp warm water, 1 tsp sugar and 2 tsp yeast. Mix and let sit for 10-15 minutes for yeast to activate. If it doesn’t foam up then the yeast is dead. In a large bowl add 3 cups of bread flour, 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/3 cup plain yogurt, 2/3 cup warm water, 1/2 tbsp salt and the yeast mixture. Mix together until it all clumps up and then with your hands start kneading for 15 minutes. Place dough in a bowl, cover with a towel and put in a warm place for it to double in size. I warmed my oven up to 170f degrees and then turned it off and placed it in there for 2 hours. Then section into 6-8 pieces and flatten with rolling pin. In a hot pan, spay oil, fry on one side 1-w minutes and spray again and flip over frying for another 1/2 minutes. For the garlic cilantro oil I simmered 1/4 olive oil m, 1 1/2 tbsp of minced garlic, 1/2 tsp salt and added chopped cilantro when the heat was off. Brush garlic oil over Naan and serve with butter chicken or chia tikka masala. #naan #naanbread #garlicnaan #butterchicken #indianfood #indianrecipes #naanrecipe #garlicnaanrecipe #breadrecipe #dinnerrecipes #cookingvideo #recipevideo

Sharing this recipe again for my easy fluffy soft naans, using only 2 ingredients! I do not make a yeasted dough (I can’t be bothered) 😂😂. I simply use self-raising flour and they are still soft, light and fluffy. Of course, if you do want more of a puff, then you can use a yeasted dough. See the bottom of the post for any top tips This recipe should make about 5 or 6 medium sized naan. 𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 300g Self raising flour 1 large spoon natural yoghurt (not Greek) 100ml tepid water (you may not need to use all of it) Melted butter for brushing after Mix flour and yoghurt together to start forming a dough. Best to use your hands, however you can use a wooden spoon if you like. If the dough is too firm, add a touch of water to loosen it up (this is why it’s best to use your hands). When you’re happy with the consistency, start kneading the dough for at least 5-7 minutes or until smooth. Cover and rest the dough for about half hour. Please note: you do not want a tough dough as it will be harder to work with. Once rested, divide the dough into equal portions and roll into balls. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough, in any shape you like, more traditionally they tend to be round or oval/teardrop shape, but really, you can do what you like. Roll out to the thickness of no more than a pound coin. You may want to have some flour on the side for sprinkling while you roll, to prevent sticking Heat up a non-stick pan or cast iron skillet. Once pan is warm, turn the heat down completely and place your rolled out dough. Allow to cook on both sides until ready and finish with brushing some melted butter, I also like to use garlic and fresh coriander too 😊 Naan can be kept warm and soft by wrapping them in a dry tea towel 𝗧𝗜𝗣: You can also finish cooking your naan under the grill or in a really hot oven. If you would like to do this, cook only one side in a pan 𝗧𝗜𝗣: For a little extra oomph, you can replace the water with buttermilk. This makes naan so delish If you have a tandoor, yaaay (can I come round? 😃 ) you can also use a pizza oven if you have one!!
Homemade Fluffy Naan Recipe 👇🏼 Makes: 5 large naan Ingredients • 4 cups all-purpose flour • 1 tbsp salt • ½ tbsp white sugar • 2 tsp quick-rise yeast • 1 egg • 1 cup milk • 1 cup water (you may need a little extra depending on the dough) • ¼ cup neutral oil (vegetable or canola) • ¼ cup plain yogurt For brushing • 3–4 tbsp melted butter • 2–3 cloves of minced garlic • Fresh parsley, chopped Instructions 1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. 2. Add the egg, milk, water, oil, and yogurt, then mix until a dough begins to form. 3. Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and soft. If it feels too dry, add a little more water a tablespoon at a time. 4. Cover the dough and let it rise for about 2 hours, or until doubled in size. 5. Preheat your oven to 480°F (250°C). 6. Divide the dough into 5 equal portions. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten with a rolling pin into an oval or round naan shape. 7. Place on a baking tray and bake for 6–8 minutes, or until the naan is golden and slightly blistered. Keep an eye on them as oven times can vary. 8. While still warm, brush with melted butter mixed with garlic and parsley. Serve warm and enjoy on its own, or use it to scoop up your favorite curries, stews, or daal. #Naan #NaanRecipe #EasyRecipe #BreadRecipe #homemadenaan
