I didn’t plan to document this when I started. But 133 days in, something told me it’s time to share what this journey is really about. It started as a promise to myself for just 30 days. A way to stay consistent when everything else felt uncertain. Now, 133 days later, I realize it’s taught me so much… It’s taught me how to be soft and still ruthless in this season of life. Soft because I’ve been healing through the miles. Ruthless because I haven’t let myself quit… even after those first 30 days were up. This has never been a fitness challenge for me. More so a return to myself. A way to rebuild trust with my body, my mind, and my word. One mile at a time. No matter the mood, the weather, or the chaos… I show up. Because if you can’t trust yourself, who can you trust? Every mile is movement forward. So heres to the beginning of me letting you in on what this one mile a day journey is teaching me. Come run it with me 🏃🏻‍♀️✨ #1stphorm #phormenergy #mileaday #onemileatatime #stl #1p #run

🏃🏻‍♀️ One mile. That’s it. After six years of not running, I’ve started going out for just one mile a few times a week, and it’s honestly changed how I feel. I stopped running after my breast reduction because it felt… strange. For years, I’d been corseted into multiple sports bras just to jog around the block or do a half-marathon. Suddenly being able to run without all that felt unfamiliar, like I didn’t quite know my body anymore. So I threw myself into other types of exercise. Then my friend @esgfitness told me she’d added a mile run to her day and I decided to try it. Just a mile. Not a pace, not training for anything, just one manageable mile. The kind of thing you can actually do, even when you don’t feel like doing anything. So that’s what I’ve been doing. One mile. A few times a week. No pressure, no tracking, no competition, just a short run. 💪🏼 It hasn’t replaced my strength training, which I love but if I’m honest, my head was feeling a little frazzled and running provides a mental clarity somehow. 🧘🏻‍♀️ I know people talk about being ‘still’ and ‘present’ for mental health but when I feel I’m unraveling, I’m a ball of nervous energy and that energy needs to go somewhere.
Running releases that pressure valve. It’s not about performance, it’s about clearing my mind, getting fresh air, and feeling proud that I did something hard before the day really begins. And honestly? The simplicity helps. No gym, no equipment, no waiting for machines (why get on the leg press if you’re just going to sit on it and look and your phone, bro?) just air pods, trainers, and a quiet road. I can be up and out before my brain has time to talk me out of it. It’s not about becoming ‘a runner’.
It’s about feeling grounded. Energised. Mentally clear. 👉🏼 If you’ve been in a bit of a rut lately, try one mile. Walk it, jog it, mix the two, whatever feels doable. No pressure, just start. You might surprise yourself. One mile at a time. 🖤 #RunningForMentalHealth #StrengthTraining #Longevity #WellnessJourney #RealLifeFitness #RunningMotivation #OneMileAtATime #BuildNotPunish #MentalHealthMatters #HealthyHabits #fitnessforlife
I remember this moment so clearly. Walking into the Chicago Marathon expo and realizing, I’m actually here. After all the miles, early mornings, doubts, and days when race day felt impossibly far away — suddenly it was real. And now I’m about to feel it all over again. Different city. Different country. Different version of me. I don’t want to become so focused on finish lines that I forget how incredible it is to simply make it to the start of something you once dreamed about. Chicago taught me to take it all in. Sydney, I promise I will. 🇦🇺 #SydneyMarathon #MarathonJourney #WomenWhoRun #RunningInspiration #OneMileAtATime
I haven’t run very much since March (all of the above, tooth, hip, life). I marvel at how much my fitness depends on running my miles and stretching afterwards. When I run my miles I always add a prison workout on the floor of whatever room I am stretching in (100 crunches, 15 pushups, 20 squats). If I do that for a month I’m incredibly fit. But here’s the thing. When you have an established daily practice, even when you let off the gas and walk your miles for weeks on end, running again is the easy switch of a gear. It doesn’t require turning over the entire engine of a stalled car. I have been in and out of fighting shape over the last 3 years. But vanity weight aside, I’m healthy, inspired and empowered by the consistent one-mile gains. My family slept in this morning at the beach, but I got up and ran my mile. Because I have an established daily practice. No one else is working out, waiting to return back to real life for exercise. These one-mileing 11 minutes of my life are incredibly important. For fitness, sure. But mostly, for consistent, reliable happiness. This is your sign to start your own daily one-mile practice. I’m convinced there is no better life-hack. This is mile number 1,031 for me. Join me. #onemileatatime #onemile #onemilehighclub #happiness #lifecoach
