I didn’t even know this was possible until I read multiple comments saying this. So I wanted to try it myself. The process of getting Larvitar from the Safari Zone is not straightforward in HeartGold and SoulSilver. You have to pass the warden’s first test of catching a Geodude. Later he calls you for a second test which allows you to alter the terrain. Larvitar is found in the mountain region. From there it’s a whole lot of grinding to unlock Pupitar and Tyranitar. But yeah, it’s technically possible before the Elite Four in HGSS. #pokemon #pokémon #pocketmonsters #gamefreak #johto #pokemonhgss #heartgold #soulsilver #larvitar #pupitar #tyranitar #safarizone #gaming #nostalgia #grinding #pokemonleague #elite4 #evolution #pokemontrainer #pokeball #pokedex

Real ones remember battling Red back in Gen 2. I don’t think anything could have prepared us for the first time we battled Red as kids. The idea of an NPC that was barely mentioned and was hidden deep in a cave and had Pokémon leveled in the 80s… it was unthinkable until you were facing it. Then in HGSS they did two things. They moved him to the top of the mountain and made his Pokémon even higher level. It’s one of the all time great moments in the franchise and has one of the best soundtracks. This moment always feels special. #pokemon #pokémon #pocketmonsters #gamefreak #johto #pokemonhgss #heartgold #soulsilver #trainerred #red #mtsilver #silver #pokemontrainer #pokemonmaster #pokemonbattle #gen2 #remake #nostalgia #gaming #pikachu #charizard #venasaur #blastoise #lapras #snorlax #mountain #snow

A simple feature in HGSS that was a lot of fans favorite little detail. Why did they get rid of this in other games? #pokemon #pokémon #pocketmonsters #gamefreak #johto #pokemonhgss #pokeball #pokedex #heartgold #soulsilver #totodile #zubat #flaaffy #rattata #crobat #espeon #nostalgia #partner #walking #gaming #retro

This game had it all. It had all three legendary birds and Mewtwo from Kanto. It had all three legendary beasts plus Lugia and Ho-oh in both games. It had a special Celebi gift distribution. It had Latios and Latias with the enigma stone event. It had all three members of the weather trio. It had a Manaphy egg event. It had an Arceus event which granted access to Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. The Johto remakes were made with the sole purpose of giving the fans a great experience. They were made with so much love. That’s why they are all time great games. #pokemon #pokémon #pocketmonsters #gamefreak #johto #heartgold #soulsilver #pokemonhgss #pokedex #nostalgia #gaming #legendary #birds #beasts #articuno #zapdos #moltres #mewtwo #hooh #lugia #rayquaza #kyogre #groudon #latios #latias #celebi #arceus #giratina #dialga #palkia

For some reason people get really upset when they see my starter using HM moves. I tried something different this playthrough where I taught HM moves to my main party members. I’ve never liked doing that and normally I’ve kept a dedicated HM s****. But you can’t do that with a full team of six. So I tried it out and honestly I loved it. I also noticed legendaries make really awesome HM s****s. #pokemon #pokémon #pocketmonsters #gamefreak #johto #pokemonhgss #heartgold #pokeball #soulsilver #legendary #kyogre #hooh #rayquaza #celebi #groudon #gaming #nostalgia #pokedex #funny #trigger
