Toddlers are totally capable of sleeping through the night and do not need any night feedings unless they have a specific health/feeding concern. This is the age when behavioral supports really start to make a difference, so giving them self-soothing tools is huge. I didn’t have time to cover how to comfort them to sleep cribside here or how to night wean, so I will make another video with that info!

My little man turned 2 this week and it’s pillow time! 🥳
It is recommended to wait until at least 2 years old to introduce a pillow. Keep it small, flat, and firm. No big fluffy pillows just yet.
It’s a small change but watching these little milestones is the best 🥹🤍

If you have a toddler who still likes to sleep on your chest, you’re going to want to read this ✨
First of all, this is so normal and beautiful! The benefits of chest-sleeping expand way beyond early infancy - this position can provide necessary co-regulation, support mother-baby synchrony, and offer relief from discomfort during periods of illness or pain for your baby.
Secondly - yes, chest-sleeping with a toddler can look very different from chest-sleeping with a small infant! One of the most common questions I get asked is: “what am I supposed to do with their legs?!” Toddlers get long and lanky and their legs may not fit neatly on your body anymore. You may notice that their legs naturally fall to the side and rest on the mattress while their head rests on your chest - this is normal. The most important part is that the sleep environment remains safe, which leads me to my third point…
Third, we still want to keep the sleep space as safe as possible, even though risk decreases with age and mobility. We want a firm to medium-firm mattress, ideally on the floor, with you (mom) centered in the mattress and ample room on either side of your body for your toddler to roll off and land safely. You should be set up at an angle in such a way that your child’s head stays steady on your chest, even if your arms drop when you enter a deep sleep.
With bedsharing toddlers, we can be a bit more flexible with allowing them to find their own positions in the night, but we still want to minimize risk and keep a safe sleep environment.
(“Toddlers” in this context are 12+ months, but young toddlers are still more vulnerable to risks than older toddlers. Please keep this in mind when bedsharing!)
This is what chest-sleeping with a toddler looks like, but there are more safety considerations if you do it with an infant! Comment “CHEST” to get the link to @cosleepy’s Chest-Sleeping Workbook 🩷

It started with her climbing out of her crib — and no matter what I did, she would not stop.
It became a problem because she was getting up multiple times and coming out of her room over and over before she could fall asleep.
Then it escalated… for almost seven days straight, she would climb out, go into her brother’s room, and sleep in his bed.
After that, she began asking (and crying) for a “big kid bed like brother.”
After two weeks of trying it all, we finally gave in and removed the rail.
I always encourage parents to hold off on this transition as long as possible. Before age 3, the part of the brain that controls self-control isn’t fully developed. That means expecting a young toddler to just “stay in bed” isn’t realistic — they physiologically can’t resist the urge to get up and come find you.
So my advice is always: wait as long as you safely can.
Once you’ve truly tried it all or it becomes a physical danger, that’s when we transition.
My daughter did beautifully because we waited. She was old enough to talk about it, understand the expectation, and we stayed consistent those first few nights as she tested boundaries. Now she’s sleeping through the night in her big girl bed 💛

What many parents don’t realize 💤
Around 2 months of age, your baby’s biological clock starts to regulate. Their body begins producing melatonin in the early evening, which naturally prepares them for sleep. This is why many babies settle best for the night somewhere between 6:30–8pm.
When bedtime keeps getting pushed later, babies can become overtired. At that point, their body releases cortisol (the stress hormone), making it harder for them to relax, fall asleep, and stay asleep.
Late bedtimes are often linked to:
• Fragmented naps the following day
• Increased night wakings
• Very early morning starts
Moving bedtime a little earlier can lead to longer, more restorative sleep, better mood upon waking, and healthier overall development.
✨ Save this for later if evenings feel hard — sometimes a small adjustment makes a huge difference.

Hi! We’re Simply Sori and around here we help tired toddler parents make the crib to big kid bed transition without the tears (yours or theirs).
We know it can be scary (we have three kiddos 8 and under) but we promise it doesn’t have to be if you have the right set up!

Moving to a big kid bed is a huge milestone and one parents ask about all the time. 🛏️
A simple rule of thumb: if your toddler is tall or strong enough to climb out of the crib, it’s time to transition.
Before making the switch, make sure you have time to stay consistent for about a week. Some toddlers will stay in bed once you explain the routine, while others will test their new freedom and wander out. Consistency is key.
To help the transition go more smoothly, remember BIG BED.:
B – Build excitement: read books about big kid beds and let them help choose bedding
I – Introduce a lovey: a stuffed animal or blanket can add comfort
G – Go for it: once you start, don’t switch back
B – Bedtime routine stays the same: same routine, just in the new bed
E – Encourage good sleep habits with praise, hugs, or small rewards
D – Don’t forget safety: bed rails, a low mattress, toddler-proof the room, and consider a gate if needed

Crawling up the stairs before bed = one of my favorite regulation hacks 👀✨
This is called heavy work (proprioceptive input)—aka deep pressure to muscles + joints that helps calm the nervous system.
Translation?
👉 Less chaos
👉 More calm
👉 Easier bedtime
And it’s doing more than you think:
• Builds core + shoulder stability
• Supports bilateral coordination
• Strengthens motor planning
That repetitive movement + deep pressure = organizing input
(which can reduce sensory seeking + bedtime dysregulation 🙌)
💡Try this tonight:
Let your baby crawl up the stairs 2–3 times (fully supervised), then go straight into your bedtime routine.
Follow for more feeding + development tips & save this to try later ✨

Okay, the teacher part isn’t exactly true, but my toddler’s new bedtime habit is just as shocking...
Bedtime used to be a 2-hour negotiation. A marathon of “one more story,” “I need water,” and mysterious leg pains that only appeared at 7:30 PM. I was exhausted, she was overtired, and nobody was winning.
Then I found these Bedtime Stickers from @natpat. I was skeptical, but desperate. The first night, she asked to be tucked in with “Whiskey” the whisk and “Spoony” the spoon. It was so... calm. I thought it was a fluke.
But it kept happening. The “strange thing” she started doing was ASKING to go to bed. And then SLEEPING. All night. And LATE.
That 8 AM panic you saw in the video was 100% real. I thought my alarm failed and we were late for everything. But nope, just a kid who was sound asleep, thanks to a little sticker with all-natural essential oils like lavender and chamomile.
We went from bedtime battles to blissful silence. My only regret is not trying them months ago.
