Most people overthink horsepower… but mess up the small decisions that actually blow engines. These 3 piston mistakes kill builds 👇 – Choosing the wrong material Not all pistons are the same. Cast and hypereutectic might be fine for stock… but if you’re adding boost or pushing power, you need forged. Even then — 2618 vs 4032 matters more than people think. – Ignoring piston-to-wall clearance Too tight? You’ll seize it. Too loose? You’ll get noise and wear. Clearances aren’t “one size fits all” — they depend on the piston AND the application. – Wrong ring gap This one destroys engines fast. Boosted setups need more gap. If you run them too tight, heat builds up and things go bad quick. Most builds don’t fail because of big parts… they fail because of overlooked details.
