But when it come to kit, fit and stability matter more than outright performance. We often buy gear for a specific race, but it’s the kit we train in week after week that really counts. The Ultimate Shorts Tried and testes these Cargo ultra trail shorts by @twistedrunning are the greatest shorts on this side of the atmosphere. Ive used these for everything, long races, stupidly long brain cell reducing races, short ones, fast ones, training runs they are my go to in almost every scenario. The storage is never ending and its retains the gear like you wouldn’t believe. For a 15 miler in the winter I would take; *500mm soft flask *few gels *Phone *Coat *Hat and gloves *your mums dignity No Dange! Racing ultras I use the pockets to get essentials out from the hard to reach pack, things i might want to take on and off or use intermittently. Having them so accessible means I actually use the gear instead of leaving it until it might be too late.
