Hello, Snap, Crackle, and Pop! These little breakfast sausages caught their freedom ride from a breeding kennel today. They're all suspected to be deaf, the result of having two merle patterned parents. This double dose of the merle gene often strips away the pigment needed for healthy ears and/or eyes during development. It is 100% preventable, but these pups don’t know they are any different. We're working on scheduling vet visits for these boys so they are not yet available for adoption. And, as they literally arrived today, we can't answer any questions about personalities other than they are 12-week-old Dachshund puppies and act like 12-week-old Dachshund puppies. 😅 If you're interested in adopting, though, we recommend applying now! You can do so on our website: www.all4pawsrescue.com/adoption #SnapCracklePop #DoubleMerle #NewRescues #All4PawsRescue #OptToAdopt All 4 Paws Rescue | P.O. Box 122, Chester Springs PA 19425 | PA Kennel License #11772

I’ve always said one of the most important things you can teach your new puppy is to follow. When they are young and the most vulnerable, this is when to teach it. A young puppy (or any mammal species) will follow their mama. And this pup is going to have to learn to use what God gave her … her nose. Scent is going to be how she interprets the world around her. I will be a scent. Sunny will be a scent. The front door will be a scent. She has to learn how to use it. She is also feeling the vibrations of my steps. What should we call her? She will be looking for a special home through @snowflakemeadows here in Haliburton. These outside videos are all within the first 10 minutes of her arriving to the farm. #doublemerle #blindanddeaf #aussiesofinstagram #adopt #foster

Nuka has a thing… and it’s very specific 😂 and it’s only when we are in Florida. Not the whole table. Not the wood. Just the metal part. Every. single. time. I started wondering… is it the temperature? The humidity?the smell? the texture? Or is she just like “yep, this is my favorite flavor now” 🐶✨ Since Nuka is deaf, she explores the world a lot through touch and smell… so I’m curious if this is sensory, instinct, or just a quirky habit. 👉 Have you ever seen your dog do this? 👉 Do you know why dogs lick metal surfaces? Drop your thoughts 👇 I’m actually curious what you all think #deafblinddog #deafdog #dogtoryakoo #doubleMerle

Spirit is a very special dog with a heart of gold, but that doesn't change the fact that no dog should suffer under the greed of humans. I have heard it so many times that dogs or people who have lost one of their senses, that their other senses become “heightened” No, that’s not true. They just practise more with that secondary sense and rely on it for everything. Practise makes perfect and that’s why I am making Cher use her sense of smell to get her food. She will use her nose to identify food and water, to recognize different people, and to find her way around the house, and outside. Adopt her through @snowflakemeadows #specialneedsdog #bornthisway #blindanddeafdog #doublemerle #adoptme #puppytraining

Before he had followers! Sound up. This the very first video ever taken of Piglet right after I removed him from the dog adoption event, brought him to my car, and got him to stop screaming at the top of his lungs! Thankfully my video skills have improved!! Happy Gotcha Day to the most precious pink puppy!!💕💕💕 . #gotchaday #happygotchaday #rescuedogsofinstagram #adoptdontshop #fosteradopt #doubledapple #doublemerle #deafdog #blinddog

Sometimes, when we're out on walks, strangers come running up to us asking if everything's okay because they hear Mordecai screaming. Then they look at him and he's the happiest dog ever, and we have to be like "yeahhhh, our dog is dramatic" 🤷‍♀️ ID for accessibility: Video taken from beside Mordecai on the couch. He is a white Australian cattle dog mix with blue cross eyes and a pink speckled nose, looking off camera and then back at the human holding the camera to express his disapproval of the dog walking by outside. He's dramatic, and he's absolutely fine. It's not as fault that he doesn't know what he sounds like.
