I’ve always loved baking. Growing up, we moved around a lot, and baking became my constant - a sweet source of comfort and creativity.
But I didn’t fully return to it until I was laid off from my corporate job.
With time on my hands and no clear next step, I turned back to something that had always brought me joy. 🎂
What started as baking for friends and family turned into a side hustle...

In 1986,
Jobs bought the computer-animation group
that became Pixar from George Lucas.
For years,
it looked like a strange bet.
Expensive hardware.
Uncertain customers.
No clear business model.
Then Toy Story changed everything.
It became the first fully
computer-animated feature film
and turned Pixar
into a serious studio.
One week after Toy Story opened,
Pixar went public.
Its stock closed at nearly
double its initial offering price,
giving Pixar a valuation
of roughly $1.5 billion.
Suddenly,
the “distraction”
became one of Jobs’
most valuable assets.
