Check it out! Lumpfish! 🐟 These peculiar fish have suction disks on their bellies, which can hold up to 18 kilograms, letting them cling to rocks and seaweed despite being poor swimmers. Covered in tubercles, their lumpy bodies provide both defense and their signature appearance. Hence where they get their name. This hatchery raises lumpfish until they’re big enough to thrive at sea in Scotland’s salmon farms. There, they help tackle sea lice by cleaning salmon as they swim by. In order to film these lumpies in all their glory, I had to take some out of the water to film. Rest assured, no lumpies were out of the water for more than a few seconds, which they can handle without issue. I work with both Salmon Scotland and Mowi. I regularly visit Mowi’s farms, as well as others, to learn more about how aquaculture operates in this region. #fishtok #seafood #salmon #atlanticsalmon #aquaculture #farmraised #farmedsalmon #fishhealth #lumpfish #sealice #lumpsucker #lumpies #wales #scotland

Not true... It's such a pointless movement that it makes you wonder why this creature hasn't become extinct! I love those kinds of dumplings😂 Thank you for your hard work today. Not all heroes wear capes, some have suction cups on their bellies! 🎗️ The lumpfish is a quirky, rotund resident of cold ocean waters. That modified pelvic fin on its underside acts like a suction disk, letting it anchor to rocks and seaweed in strong currents. While our pets prefer solid ground, they share that same need for a stable, secure spot to call their own. 🎣 Give your pet an anchor in the storm! 次はダンゴウオキーホルダーになっているモテない男ブルーノを紹介します🤩 Introducing the dangouo (lumpfish) that are now available as dango goods! Sakurako, who we used to keep, was a pink, cute but ugly idol✨ Sakurako was a girl who only had a crush on Chibi-kun (male), and hated Bruno-kun (male) because he had once climbed on her... We often fed her white shrimp at that time, and she had a greedy side to her, clinging to the tweezers when shown them✨ This one has been made into a dangouo keychain! 良い夢を🍀 Thank you for your hard work today. The winter jewel of the tide pools — the lumpsucker! I went night tide-pooling during the New Year holidays. In winter, lumpsuckers come up to shallow waters to breed, and I was lucky enough to scout a few of them. They gently stuck to me with their belly suckers, and they were so adorable that I didn’t even mind the tiny flying insects 🥳 There were so many insects gathering around the light that night — turning it on and off was a real challenge… I hope they stay warm and cozy at home, grow well, and pass their lives on to the next generation 🙏 Time to order some amphipods! ▶︎What is this fish?
