It's all go in my printmaking studio here in Ironbridge, my Gunning Etching Presses are running all the time! 🎨✨ After a year and a half of writing, my step-by-step printmaking guide, commissioned by the incredible Bloomsbury, is almost there! I hand it in on 6th March, and then it will be published a year later—what a journey! The diary is absolutely packed after hand-in day, with workshops, press demos, and exciting commissions waiting to be completed. I can’t wait!! Our Gunning Etching Presses continue to fly out the door, solar plates are selling around the clock, and our printmaking materials (expertly run by Ellie) are busier than ever! Our Ironbridge Stay Open ink, rollers, registration pins, hotplates, aquatint boxes, and so much more are heading out daily! Print making session at the printmaking studio today! And a little bit of Mukbang :> *”예약“(오타) 수정후-> “이해”
Very happy to be part of this years To Riso Or Not, a workperiod for artists and illustrators by Wobby Club @wobbyclub and Make Eindhoven @makeeindhoven ✨ • During the residency at this printmaking studio I focused mostly on making monoprints and dry needle prints with the big etching press. The pieces I made were a visual research of the images & symbols that recently are featured in my work like masks, shepherds, birds & comets. Also did a fun series of risograph collabs with @vic_hoo were she would make paper cut outs and print them over my geometrical patterns.🌙 • Works from all participants are exhibited during Dutch Design week @dutchdesignweek from 21st to the 29th of October at Gasfabriek 12, Eindhoven.🔥 • • • #printmaking #art #artwork #residency #wobby #wobbyclub #kunst #workperiod #prints #monoprints #dryneedle #patterns #risograph #illustration #illustrator

I've started working a day a week in the printmaking studio @schackartcenter in Everett, WA. It's been nice to have a little more space to work with this large plate. I'm grateful to have space for art in my home, but it can get a little tight. The hardest thing is managing supplies in two places. 🤪 I was happy to see a good selection of heavy books, so I didn't have to schlep them from home to weight this one down while the paint was dying. I kept this one a bit simpler and embraced the primary color scheme from the Bingo box that started this whole series. Next step...a little embroidery work. 🪡

As I start my work on this new series of etchings, I'm so thankful to God that things work out and fall into place. As I was constrained with resources to pursue specific mediums, thankfully I was able to utilize the printmaking studio at my alma mater (and now, also my workplace as I teach two studios here). Different printmaking methods require specific studio setups, and for intaglio etching there is a series of steps involved; from preparing the etching plate to inking and then printing. . This is a series that I couldn't wait to begin work on. In the upcoming days you will see glimpses into the drawing process. . Shoutout to @mabdul.ivs for helping me out!
