Songfox is a Stockholm-based startup that lets people create AI-generated songs and covers legally. And in 2025, it became the first startup to operate under a new AI music license launched by STIM, Sweden’s music rights organization. #songfox #caffeine4brains #ai #technology #tech
As a member of @mmfsweden (Music Managers Forum), I participated today in a crucial discussion regarding the impact of AI on Swedish songwriters. Given the rapid evolution of AI technology, this issue has become a top priority for the modern music industry. To address these challenges proactively, MMF Sweden has established a dedicated working group in collaboration with @stimsweden to develop future AI-related licensing models. The session was facilitated by @simongozzi (Head of Business Development & Industry Insight at STIM) and held at the STIM headquarters. #ai #sweden #technology #musicindustry

CEO Mike Shulman of Suno - an AI platform that lets anyone generate full songs from text prompts - says most people don’t enjoy making music anymore because it’s too hard and takes too long. Same logic as: Don’t cook, DoorDash. Don’t go to the gym, take a pill. Don’t practice, generate. Is this progress… or are we deleting the very thing that makes art meaningful? During the dawn of digital music, Steve Jobs launched iTunes, letting users buy individual tracks for just ninety nine cents. It provided a legal, easy-to-use alternative to illegal downloads and quickly became the go-to method for accessing music online. Later, Daniel Ek presented a new approach with Spotify, emphasizing free streaming supported by ads. Instead of owning songs, listeners could instantly explore massive music libraries, transforming the way people consumed digital entertainment. Initially, the concept met doubt and pushback from established industry players. Once Spotify rolled out broadly, streaming started overtaking downloads as users favored immediate, unlimited access to music. This rivalry eventually pushed major companies to rethink their approach, launching their own streaming platforms to match shifting consumer habits. The rise of these music services highlights how innovation can disrupt industries and change the way audiences experience media. I’d love to know what you guys think about this. I’ve used suno, and it’s super powerful. Used right, it can absolutely enhance our creative abilities. But I hate this age of fake music that nobody played any part in creating. If you think writing a prompt is the same as writing a song, you’re just wrong. We need to get some boundaries on this. What do you think? #suno #aimusic #musicproduction #audioengineering #fakemusic
