My season of denial has begun! 🌸 Fireweed is a clock of sorts here in Alaska. And once it starts to bloom, summer’s clock starts ticking. They say once the blooms reach the top, it’s only six weeks til winter. “When fireweed turns to cotton, summer will soon be forgotten” So while I love this beautiful flower, I’m in no rush to see her bloom. #alaska #homesteadlife #fireweed #alaskaliving

We only have a few days left in Alaska 😭 It’s not something I bring up often, but on a personal note, we are a military family, my husband is active duty. Here’s what happened⬇️ out camping in Alaska as a bear guide for the summer it’s pretty common to see some extraordinary wildlife, but never did I expect my first wolf encounter to happen like this we were boating clients out to encounter bears on the mud flats, and being that it’s a tidal river. Someone has to watch the boats.. of course I get stuck with that job for the day..slowly getting bored I lie down for a while and as I’m sleeping in the middle of the river my 30min alarm goes off and as soon as I sit up my eyes lock with this wolf creeping right towards me as soon as I start recording he begins to back off his approach and walks right by the boats and eventually runs off about 600yds it’s a good lesson to always keep your head on a swivel and know your surroundings I was close to being dinner #alaskanwolf #wolf #fyp #wildlife #alaska

summer in Alaska is a dream 🥹 with up to 24 hours of sun in some way northern parts of Alaska (up to 18 where i visited) you truly can enjoy a midnight sun! I took a cruise to Alaska and I know that just begins to scratch the surface, but it was still so memorable and so worth it. Ever since I went I have had family, friends, and followers/readers all try cruising to Alaska! I went with @princesscruises on the Discovery Princess for 7-days hosted 3 summers ago but video was just getting started on my page then so i love that I can share this footage now and can’t wait to go back 😍 #alaskacruise #discoveryprincess #princesscruises #alaskasummer

If you’re new to Juneau, PCSing, planning a move, or even just visiting this summer, it’s important to know about the glacial lake outburst flood that happens twice a year — the worst flood usually taking place in the summer (July or August). I wish someone had told me, especially because it can cause a lot of damage to homes and roadways.
