Part 2 — and this is the part no one explains
Tensing your legs doesn’t protect you
…it actually makes the exam harder and longer
Relaxing your legs = quicker, smoother, less uncomfortable
Save this so you remember before your next visit
👇 What questions do you still have about your first exam?

Darth is one big boyyyy😳 Thats around 300 pounds of mean Gator machine and the real Tarzan is doing a good job of holding him up🙌 Look at how relaxed Darths hand are😅 He’s not tensing up or anything and thats because he trust that he’s going to be ok😁 Animals will typically tense up or shake their bodies when they feel uncomfortable but here Darth is just along for the ride👀

Ever wondered why a simple roll back can feel so hard?
This classic Pilates move isn’t just about rolling through the spine. It challenges your core control, pelvic stability and mobility all at once. If you find yourself gripping, tensing or feeling stuck halfway… you’re not alone!!
Mastering the roll back means reconnecting to your deep abdominal muscles and learning to move with control, not momentum.
Tip: Complete our Activate Challenge on the app 📱 This is the perfect challenge that will focus on activating those deep abdominal muscles and improve pelvic stability. It’s one of our most popular challenges of all time and there’s no surprise as to why!
Save this for later! 🤍

I spent two years swimming wrong.
Not wrong technique, wrong effort. I was fighting every lap. Tensing up, kicking hard, pulling harder, gasping for air at every turn. I thought the answer was fitness. It was not.
The answer was slowing down.
Swimming is the only discipline where more effort makes you worse. In running, push harder, go faster. In cycling, same thing. In swimming, push harder and your body tenses up, your stroke shortens, you create more drag, and you literally fight the water. The water always wins.
Three things that changed everything for me:
1. Exhale underwater. Not at the surface. The entire time your face is down, blow out slowly through your nose. Your breathing rhythm fixes itself within two sessions. This alone is worth more than any drill.
2. Slow your stroke rate by 30 percent. Count to two between each pull. You will feel slower. You will cover more distance per stroke with less drag. You will actually be faster.
3. Stop kicking so hard. In triathlon your kick is for balance, not speed. A light two-beat kick saves your legs for the 90km bike and the half marathon after it. A hard kick burns energy you need 4 hours from now.
The fast swimmer in the next lane is not fitter than you. They just stopped fighting the water before you did.
Send this to someone who needs to hear it.

Most people ruin their cold plunge before they even start.
How?
❌Tensing up
❌Holding their breath
❌Jumping straight into freezing temps
❌Going in stressed and leaving worse
Cold plunges work because they trigger stress — but the key is how your body handles it.
Here’s how to get it right as a beginner.
🧊 Temp: 10–15°C is enough (no ice needed)
⏱️ Time: 1–2 minutes to start
🌬️ Breath: Slow inhale through your nose → long exhale through your mouth
📅 Frequency: 2–4x/week, not daily
🧠 Mindset: Calm in = calm out
The real benefit isn’t just releasing dopamine or increasing brown fat production - it’s gaining control over your own nervous system.
And becoming more mentally resilient.

Horses don’t think a slap or patting is a reward, you see in video the horse arching neck, closing his eye and tensing bracing for the slap. In the herd horses only rub and groom they don’t pat for to comfort another. Stroke your horse or scratch at the withers and your horse will naturally associate it with good job.
Comment rub and I will send link to educational newsletter with training true stories.

Building speed on guitar isn’t about tensing up and praying for fast hands — it’s about control first, speed second 🎸
Clean alternate picking, relaxed hands, and intentional reps are what actually make lead solos sound fast.
Slow it down. Lock it in. Then let the tempo climb.
If your picking falls apart at speed, the problem isn’t speed — it’s the foundation.
Master the motion and the speed shows up naturally.

IYKYK… it’s very difficult to clean someone’s teeth when they are tensing their lower lip. My best advice (what has worked for me) is to first simply ASK THE PATIENT if they notice that they are doing it – and if they do – then ask them to focus on relaxing their lips and/or relaxing their cheeks. Most of the time, once you make the patient aware that they are doing it — they CAN focus on not doing it.
They might stop tensing up and be relaxed for a while… just to slowly start tightening up again. So, I usually just keep giving them friendly reminders to relax their lips throughout the appointment. It’s not their fault, you know, it just happens subconsciously.
However, if the patient has no idea that they are doing it and they can’t control it, learn more about the next steps to take (such as using cotton rolls, cheek retractors, etc) by watching my latest video on YouTube.com/TeethTalk ☮️❤️🦷
