“Happy Birthday Elliot! I’m truly grateful to have shared so many years playing alongside you. You are a real master of your instrument, and probably one of the few trombonists in the world that consistently makes the saxophones turn around in amazement. For anyone that doesn’t know, Elliot is usually the person who is given the hardest solos with the fastest tempos and the most difficult changes, because he always makes it look effortless to play on them. Besides being a monster on the trombone, he also excels at everything else he commits to, whether it’s tennis, chess, audio gear, and even coffee. Here’s to another great year of music, jokes, and natural Ethiopian coffees together. Happy Birthday brother!” - @paulnedzela, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra saxophonist

“Today we celebrate the birthday of Paul Nedzela, @paulnedzela . Paul has been the low-end anchor of the saxophone section for the past 12 years. I’m lucky to sit close to Paul on the bandstand, so I can clearly hear and enjoy his beautiful and soulful sound. He is deeply dedicated to swinging and to the music. Our orchestra spends a lot of time together through touring and shows at home, so we are like one big family. I’m very lucky to call Paul my good friend. We share many of the same interests—records, audio gear, and food, to name a few. Some of my favorite moments over the years with Paul are the times before soundcheck or backstage before a gig, playing duo through tunes we’ve been working on or simply enjoy playing together. Let’s take a moment to celebrate Paul Nedzela and thank him for making the world a more swinging and soulful place every day. Happy Birthday, Paul! We all love you!“ - @dannimmer, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra pianist
