The Fragrance Foundation, in association with the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District, proudly presents the 2nd Annual Fragrance Week on Madison Avenue, taking place March 21–27. This week-long celebration begins on Saturday, March 21, in honor of International Fragrance Day—a global tribute to the art of scent, brought to life along the iconic stretch of Madison Avenue. Open to the public, participating boutiques and flagship stores from East 57th to East 86th Streets, along with select adjacent avenues, will host a curated series of immersive experiences. Guests are invited to explore the artistry, craftsmanship, and storytelling that define the world of fine fragrance. As part of the celebration, discover the “Art of Fragrance” expert-led tour on Saturday, March 21. This exclusive experience offers an intimate journey through scent, where guests will hear the stories behind iconic perfumes while sampling both legendary compositions and new releases across Madison Avenue’s most prestigious fragrance and fashion houses. I walked into a fragrance event Friday night… and realized I’ve been doing this all wrong. I attended After the Top Note, hosted by Essence Social Club at Union Market in one of the community spaces. This wasn’t just people smelling perfume. It was a curated experience… indie brands, stories behind the scents, people really getting into notes and layering. During the fragrance swap, I finally got my hands on #Devotion EDP by Dolce & Gabbana. And I got introduced to Harlem Perfume Company… I know, I’m late. Langston was my favorite, and a girl put me on to layering Langston with Golden Muse… yeah, I can’t wait to try that combo. There were light bites, tons of samples, great music… and the space itself was a whole vibe. But honestly, what stood out was the energy. People were sharing, learning, asking questions… it just felt different. And now I’m like… yeah, I need more of that. I can’t wait to book my ticket—there’s another experience in New York I’ve got my eye on.
