My friend laid his bike down last night after doing a buck-50, as soon as I heard the news I rushed to him as fast as I could he was 23min away I got there in 14. Believe it or not he was untouched, not a single scratch on him b/c of his gear his life was saved, definitely because he was able to slow down so much before he hit the rail too otherwise he would’ve went over it. He got checked out at the hospital and he was fine. Bike got fucked up a little but not bad he’ll have it back up inna week. I was so scared my heart would’ve broke if I lost anyone. Last night fucked me up bad. I’ll always wear my gear and ride safe and within my limits. A medical malpractice wrongful death lawsuit was filed after Ilda Victor Maciel, an 88-year-old stroke patient in Rio de Janeiro, died following an injection at Santa Casa de Barra Mansa hospital. Maciel was reportedly improving when a nurse allegedly injected soup into her veins instead of her feeding tube. The hospital acknowledges the error but denies it caused her death, though an autopsy concluded the soup injection likely caused a pulmonary embolism. Maciel’s daughter, who witnessed the event, claims Maciel had an immediate seizure and died 12 hours later, leading the family to seek justice against the hospital for this fatal mistake. In a similar case of alleged medical malpractice, the family of 79-year-old Richard Smith is suing a nurse and North Shore Medical Center in Miami, Florida, for his wrongful death. Smith was admitted for shortness of breath but also complained of indigestion, for which doctors prescribed the antacid Pepcid. Instead, nurse Uvo Ologboride allegedly gave Smith a lethal dose of Pancuronium, a powerful muscle relaxer used in lethal injections. Smith was found unresponsive 30 minutes later, went into cardiac arrest, and although revived, he was left brain dead, dying a month after the mistake. The lawsuit against North Shore Medical Center highlights a critical failure in safety protocols, as a report from the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration revealed the nurse, Uvo Ologboride, would have had to ignore nearly all safety procedures designed to prevent such errors.
