TAHI Ōtepoti - Dunedin's festival of solo performance.
A collaboration between @tahifestivalnz and @artsfestdunedin

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

And that's a wrap! What a time - 7 shows, 18 performances, 2 theatres, 3 marae, 5 days and lots of audience.

Thank you everyone who played a part but for now, especially these exhausted venue techs - dream team tbh. 10/10 would do again. by @tahiotepoti

We had such a great time at our opening night last night and apparently so did the reviewers!

There's a lovely review of A Raptor in Dunedin on Theatreview (see link in comments) and you can see the show yourself this evening, followed by a special kōrero with the creatives Sofia Kalogeropoulou, Kim Cope Tait and Maddy Parkins-Craig. It's going to be a treat.

In case you'd like us to plan your whole evening, see this show at New Athenaeum Theatre at 6pm, get a quick dinner and the head over to the opening night of He Māori! at @tewhareorukutia at 8pm. by @tahiotepoti

The day is here… it’s happening! Thank you for all of the support Ōtepoti, we love you. The show couldn’t be possible without our beautiful team - Tabitha on Technical Design and Direction, Sof on Set Build (hero!!), Milla on Sound, and Katy on Stage Support and Photography. We love making theatre! Thank you @tahiotepoti 🙌🏼 by @tahiotepoti

Did I think through the consequences of including 'AI' in the title of my show?

No, I did not.

Has it been a problem? Yes, sort of. (If you want to find out how, come along to hear that.)

Did I use AI to help create the show?

No, I did not. If I want something designed badly, I'm perfectly capable of doing that myself. (If you want to see how badly, come along to witness that, e.g. the slide in this image.)

Ticket sales are really ramping up, thanks to a lovely pic and article about @tahiotepoti in today's ODT! And a great chat with Callum & P on The Hits this morning, where we gave away tickets.

I'll also be talking with @damian_in_dunners on The Breeze tomorrow around 7.30am. Yay for all these lovely people giving us airtime! Thank you 💖

And Friday night's performance of Invisible to the Naked AI is 3/4 sold out, so don't wait to buy tickets on the day.

Today's the day people! Who's coming to our opening night shows tonight....?

Subtext of the photo in the ODT today is the many people involved in a solo performance - writers, techs, producers, directors, designers, dramatics, choreographers, box office, volunteers ................ AND audience

It takes a village to raise a show. 🙏

(Meta won't let us post enough links to enable the arts to succeed so you'll have to find it on the ODT website yourself arohamai... ‘Very big win’: Wellington arts festival comes exclusively to Dunedin)
