A few months ago I was studying for NCLEX. 🎓 I completed nursing school—and before anything else, I want you to understand why this moment means so much to me. I hope that when you look back on your childhood, you remember watching your mother choose life, healing, and growth—even when her body was fighting her. I hope you remember seeing me refuse to quit, not because it was easy, but because I knew who I was becoming. During pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Two weeks after giving birth by C-section, I suffered a stroke caused by a blood clot in my brain. I’ve endured two brain surgeries. And yet—through recovery, fear, pain, and rebuilding—I kept going. Along the way, I earned more than a degree. I became a licensed cosmetologist. I became a published author. I began building a hair care brand from the ground up. And through every season, you watched me show up—healing, learning, growing, and still committed to becoming better than the version I was before. I did this for me—but I also did it for you. So you would know that setbacks don’t define you. That your body does not get the final say over your purpose. That becoming a new version of yourself is something to embrace, not fear. Every milestone. Every license. Every season of recovery and learning added another layer—not just to my life, but to the legacy I’m building for you. I know this about myself now—and I want you to know it too: When life tries to take me out, I rise like a phoenix 🐦‍🔥 When I commit to something, I finish it. If you take nothing else from my journey, let it be this—never quit on yourself, keep becoming, and always finish what you start. This isn’t about perfection. This is about resilience. I SURVIVED NURSING SCHOOL!! 🩺👩🏾‍⚕️💉💊😆😆🎉🥂🎊 And yes I’m still a HAIRSTYLIST 😆This has been one of the most HUMBLING & HARDEST experiences I’ve had to endure. I survived a stroke and 2 brain surgeries and felt like there was no was possible I was smart enough to go through with school but GOD pulled me through every trial and tribulation!
