As the dust settles on our @coffinbayspirits project we will share some story behind the materials we used In the native bush over looking coffin bay this facade needed to be raw, rugged and weathered to match the surrounding landscape (and one of the owners *not Caro) It was constructed entirely from reclaimed materials. Specifically the ceiling boards that are old sheep grate floors were mix matched with charred cladding for increased weather resistance and aesthetics Interestingly the hardwood planks were already very oily from the wools natural lanolin which is widely used in skin cosmetics as well as household products like leather treatment, rust-preventive coatings, and waterproofing compounds @hankinselectrical @ctc.plumbing @azzurri_finish @desertcraftcontracting @hia_au @reneworgau #eyrepeninsula #taigabuild #coffinbay #reclaimedwood by @taiga_build
@thegreenlycarriage officially open for business! Kudos to Tara & Luke who stuck to their sustainability brief throughout the project and have done an incredible job of the fit out with the use of reclaimed and boutique furnishings. Well done to all our team and trades involved. Retro fitting with steel is no easy task! How the Solar Passive Pavilion design was born.. Like always we start with the clients brief. We then implement solar passive design and from here our designs are their own evolution created from modelling, functionality and material selection This is some early modelling we run at concept stage to adjust orientation, eave overhangs and window sizes to maximise winter sun into the home while protecting it summer Design - @maldannabd Energy assessor - @powerhausengineering Energy rating - 7.9 ⭐️ @hia_au @renew #taigabuild #passivesolar #energyefficiency #australianarchitecture #eyrepeninsula by @taiga_build

TAIGA BUILD • We spend plenty of time working alongside Cambo and the rest of the @taiga_build team. Fortunately for us, they provide a healthy amount of worksite banter 😎 From planning through to groundworks and construction, collaboration between trades carries right through to handover — and this crew makes it easy. This was one of our favourite builds to date Boasting an 8.7 energy rating this project includes many features that are a staple to a Taiga Build home With a combination of raw materials and clean finishes this home maximises passive solar design with a long narrow footprint orientating north With over 300 years of integrated history, the reclaimed materials all tell a story and create a truly unique home Thanks to all our trades and once again great clients!
