Hey, I’m Jacob ✂️

I’m a hairstylist based in Manchester and, honestly, I just really love hair.

Short hair, long hair, straight hair, curly hair… I find all of it interesting.

I’m also a bit of a science geek 🤓 and love understanding why things work. Ingredients, colour theory, scalp health, curl education, hair chemistry… if someone lets me ask questions, I absolutely will 😂

If you’ve ever bumped into me at an education event, you’ll know I’m usually the one standing there asking approximately 500 questions and refusing to leave until I understand everything properly. I genuinely love learning and don’t think anyone ever knows it all in this industry.

I know hair isn’t “just hair” to a lot of people. It can affect confidence, identity and how we see ourselves, which is probably why I care so much about what I do. I don’t really fit into the whole “get them in and get them out” mindset. I like taking my time, paying attention to the details and making sure people feel comfortable and listened to.

This page is basically a mixture of healthy hair, education, the odd bit of hair science, curly hair, colour, and me getting overly excited about things most people probably think are boring 😂

Why I do what I do ✨

Hair has never been just hair to me, it’s always been something way deeper,, a way to express, to find calm and to ground myself when life feels too loud.

I like to say I don’t just DO hair, I FEEL it. This is why my work feels personal. I put my whole self into it, it’s never been “just a job.”

I’ve never believed in the whole “it’s just business” or “Time is money” mindset either,, I care too much for that, I take my time, I work with intention take pride in doing things properly with love , care, and creative energy at every stage. For me, It’s about creating something that brings a smile to my clients face.

The connection between myself, the hair and the client is what keeps me going, It allows me to push myself into creating something beautiful.
This isn’t just a career to me, it’s who I am.

One thing that’s become really important to me is being intentional with the products I choose for both my own hair and my clients..

I don’t want products in my kit just because they’re new, trending or because everyone’s talking about them. If I’m using something on your hair, it’s because I genuinely believe it has purpose and brings value to the service I’m providing.

Healthy hair will always come first for me, and I’ll always do my best to use products and techniques that help protect the your hair whilst still achieving the result we’re working towards 💕

As I’m getting everything together before taking clients, I’ve been spending a lot of time refining my kit and making sure every product has earned its place. I’d much rather have a small collection of products I completely trust than shelves full of things I rarely reach for.

In my eyes, hair is only ever as good as the canvas you start with… and that’s exactly why I love Metal Detox. 🤍

It’s also why every new client I welcome into my chair will have a Hair Analysis & Consultation before we begin. I genuinely believe understanding the hair first is one of the most important parts of any appointment, because no two heads of hair are ever the same,,

Here’s another,, a beautiful wash and blowdry for my client who was off to a wedding! 😚🥰
I washed her hair using @kerastase_proclub products and applied her personalised formula of the Fusio Dose Teeatment to add shine, smoothness and to soothe and comfort her scalp✨
I really enjoyed this service 😊

Not got a good before pic unfortunately but here’s the after of this beautiful hair 🤩🤩

My client today had just gotten her hair done and unfortunately, she wasn’t very happy with the final tone; it appeared a little raw and yellow so I gave her a full tonal refresh and a blowdry for her birthday tomorrow 🤩🥰

I was so, so happy with the result of my client’s hair today 🤩

I won’t bore anyone with colour formulas because I’d be here talking all day hahaha so…

For my client today,, I wanted her to still feel blonde, but in a softer, more wearable way. Therefore, I used a range of @redkenpro products to create depth and balance the colour from base to tips.

I also got to use some of the new Innersense Pro products today, which was such a nice bonus 🤭 Thank you again @chrisandsonsuk and to the @innersenseorganicbeauty team for sending me out all the products and equipment 🤍 I loved using the gown, clips, bowls and everything else, they made me feel very extra professional today hehehe.

I’m still learning, still experimenting with all the products out there and, obviously I’m still obsessed with hair lol😂🤍

The last pics was my clients inspiration pic but she just wanted to be slightly lighter than that so this was the result x

Honestly… just look at all of this 😭🤍

I thought I’d put everything together that’s been sent out to me alongside my own collection because seeing it all in one place is mad 😮‍💨

I’ve already been using the new products and I’m so impressed with them. The gowns, clips, brushes… honestly, everything just feels lovely to work with and I can’t wait to get even more use out of it all 😍

Back to brunette 😆🤎

When we originally did the blue, I was told it was staying forever…

Fast forward around 3 weeks, a heatwave and a few washes with Lynx shampoo later (which I definitely advised against lol 😂), and the message I got was,

“Take me back brown.”

And honestly, that’s hair 😂

People change their minds, life happens, and sometimes the fantasy colour era doesn’t last as long as expected.

No judgement here though… I’ve changed my own mind about my hair God knows how many times, probably about 4,000 😂🤷‍♂️
