This fall is going to the DOGS!!!!! We couldn’t be more excited to be kicking off our season of fall aspen sessions this weekend - there are still some available sessions, too! We will begin our scouting this week to check out our locations and see where the leaves are looking good. Things are turning early, but rest assured we will continue scouting throughout the coming weeks to make sure leaves are that perfect gold!
I had too much fun collecting this series of dog portraits from some of our sessions last year 😍🍂

Guess the dog breed EXPERT LEVEL 🤪 the prize is knowing you’re a bigger dog nerd than we are because some of these dog breeds were new to us!

This past weekend, we photographed fast CAT at a dog show. In Fast CAT, dogs chase a lure as fast as they can for a 100 yard dash! It’s so fun watching dogs run as fast as they possibly can.

Our fast CAT photos from this weekend are uploaded and there’s a link in our bio to access them! by @tailsofvoyage

Before and after of the alpine glow 🤩

Watching the sunset on the mountains is one of my favorite experiences. For a while, I missed the sunsets you could see in the sky, but the mountains turn the color the clouds would have, and this night, it was being orange.

No masks, not enhancing, because it doesn’t need it. This is the power of color correcting to bring back what our eyes saw.

August slipped away into our favorite month 🤩 September means aspen season and we can’t wait to be under the golden leaves for the busiest two weeks ever!

I love our summer and winter sessions, but autumn being so brief makes these sessions feel extra special to create with folks in Colorado 🥰

We have less than half of our aspen sessions still available on our website for booking. 🍂🍁✨ taken in Colorado by @tailsofvoyage

To say I struggled picking photos to share from this session is the understatement of the year 😭😭😭

Every time we photograph a dog for a second, third, or even seventh time, we feel so lucky. We get to watch both dog and human strengthen their bond year after year, and it feels so magical to strengthen our photography skills over time with you all 🥰

Can you feel these photos? Which one is your favorite 😍

These are my favorite pugs in the world🫶🏻 Luigi + Lorenzo

My third summer shoot spent with them was in the San Juan’s. We hiked up to the first blue lake and frolicked amongst the flowers and views.

Shortly after our second shoot in the summer of 2025, Luigi got diagnosed with cancer in his jaw, and underwent treatment. He’s surpassed his estimates and made it to his special San Juan shoot 🥹 and has been traveling all over with Marianna experiencing everything the world has to offer.

During our first shoot, Luigi won our hearts by barking at us (and taking our treats) and then barking at us more, and during our most recent session, he imparted the wisdom of the universe through his eyes. Sometimes you can just look at a dog and learn the secrets of life.

Please send all the positive vibes you have to @colorado_pugs 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Posting this to manifest the cooler weather be brought to Denver ✨🍂🍁 END this heat wave and bring us crisp, leaf peeping weather ✨🍁🍂

I love this session so much. Hayduke, Laney, and Oliver all brought their true, silly personalities to this session, and we loved getting to know them 🥰

In just ONE short month, we’ll be shooting aspen sessions and scouting non stop to make sure each session has stunning color like this one 🤩 taken in Colorado by @tailsofvoyage

Forever by my side was the thought behind the tattoo of my sweet husky boy Tucker, my first dog who has been just that over many years together. So many dogs, so many stories, and seeing the art our clients have chosen to symbolize this special bond always fills our hearts. We get so excited when asked to capture a tattoo shot, Ellen and I always quickly pulling up our sleeves to share, “this is my girl Nelle,” “this is me and my Tuckerman!” I realized recently how many of these special shots we have captured, of dogs and their tattoos, and thought it would be fun to collectively share some of them😍 by @tailsofvoyage

The threat of rain warned us at the beginning of our shoot, and I’m glad we didn’t listen. With Colorado, weather changes in an instant. The specialized weather app I have has never steered me wrong, but it ALMOST did this evening with Julie and Chase. This session was pure magic ✨

These two have done over 300 hikes together 🥰 dare I say the best adventure buddy??

I can’t believe summer sessions end tonight and autumn sessions start in five weeks 😭

This post is dedicated to the absolute JOY that is Penny the Vizsla! We have been lucky enough to photograph this goofball and her parents in every season and even at a few FastCAT events. She always brings the humor and zooms and we love her for it!! Do her ears help her reach these heights?? Is she going to just fly away at a future session??? ✈️✈️ by @tailsofvoyage

When the sunrise just 🌞✨😘

The hazy wildfire smoke sunrise made some magic for Fiona and Nova for their sunrise session. Lots of booty scratches and kisses for this session. I just love when a bond between human and dog is this visible 🥰

We always try to fit folks in if we get a request for a session. 🫶🏻 send us an email if you can’t make any of our session times work 🫶🏻
