He knew exactly who He was — and still picked up the towel.

Before Christ, church was a farce to me and I was a scammer in my own life. Shortcuts, distraction, and every lie I liked telling myself. I was chasing a reward for what I thought I was worth.

God showed up as a comforter — and it took shape in the form of community, His people, and that continues to confirm His gift is true love.

Now, as a new creation, I get to see the fruit of His passion.

EMO sidebar 😂 I never went to college, never had a real graduation, so yesterday meant everything for me: I graduated Rooted after 2 years of saying yes to Jesus, to surrender, to community, to discipleship. 🥳🥳

This past Friday, My Dad @teddyriley1 was honored by the city of ATL as a Founding Father and received a Proclamation for his contributions as a Music Pioneer, Innovator, Legacy builder, and Community Leader.

FLETS BLAYYY 🌊🪼💚🩷💙

We had the absolute honor of being in that room for @theseaweedsisters presents: Weed Oh No! — STILL massaging our jaws from laughing so hard. Still at a complete loss for words. And yet here we are, typing an unofficial review.

From the moment you walk in, Blue, Green, and Pink are already greeting you on the walls in their own color-coded universes — the detail, the googly eyes on the seaweed props, the scrapbook collages for each character. And the opening room? A museum of surprises that you genuinely need to be there to experience for yourself.

The set itself was a full sensory wonderland — draped fabric forts, a “SMIDGE” fridge, a hand-drawn doodle rug that looks like the floor of the most chaotic and wonderful kindergarten classroom you wish you were enrolled in, and a cloud hanging from the ceiling that pulsed with color like it had a heartbeat. The backstage crew hit every single cue with *NSYNC boy band precision. The original music was customized to each of their caricatures in the most delectable way. The character development, the physical comedy, the specificity. chef’s quiche— Jillian, Dana, and Megan brought Blue, Green, and Pink to life in a personable way that I have been curious to discover in the years of hanging on every last video visual they have shared in the sisters seaweed saga.

In a season where art feels like it has to carry the weight of the world — doom, gloom, dystopian everything — these three women had the quiet, radical audacity to simply delight. To choose childlike wonder. To make a meek and magnificent statement that says: we need more of this.

And we do. We really, really do.

It arrived. A proud daughter moment.🥹

My dad’s book, Remember the Times: A Memoir, released yesterday, and my copy just landed. I’m looking forward to sitting with his story and experiencing his life through his own narrative — there’s something powerful about hearing it in his own words.
