Shoutout to @memphisaltphotography for capturing last night’s show ⚡️

What a night sharing space with @gong_slayer and @aster.memphis in “Healing Metal.” Gratitude to @its.whimsyhaus for curating the event, and to everyone who came out to listen. 🧡

It’s said that the two instruments that can stop the mind in its tracks are the gong, and the conch. I was happy to share them along with some field recordings I made in India this summer, with flutes by @ias.creations 🕉️ taken in Society Memphis by @tajchander

@its.whimsyhaus and @societymemphis present HEALING METAL

So unbelievably excited for this show. Thee Gong Slayer @gong_slayer from Albuquerque, NM coaxing a wall of sound from his gong. Taj Chander @tajchander bathing you in sound. It'll be a night of immersive sonics in a sick space. I'll also be providing live, analog, audio reactive visuals. Don't miss this one sound fans.

It’s been a beautiful week… Key takeaways include: feeling less interested in becoming something and more interested in showing up for the things I already love: music, family, building genuine relationships w my students and colleagues, following a path… I feel extremely lucky to be part of so many communities.
