Some powerful moments from last night.

In case you’re out the loop, last night hundreds of NHS patients, health workers and activists gathered outside Palantir’s HQ to demand that the government back the break clause and cut Palantir’s £330m contract with the NHS. Palantir - the international spytech company working with ICE and the IDF - has no place in our NHS ❌

Despite counter protestors best efforts, our voices could not be silenced nor ignored 🗣️

This national day of action was part of the “People vs Palantir” global week of action, which saw mobilisations happening across 40 different locations in England, and even more across Europe, North America, South America and Australia!

A big pat on the back to all those who spoke and showed up - our power in numbers was undeniable. It’s time to pull the plug on Palantir in our NHS 🔌

To kick off People Vs Palantir: Global Week of Action, we just disrupted a Nvidia themed elite AI network dinner - featuring keynote speaker Ross Verrall, who leads NVIDIA’s Enterprise Services business across EMEA.

NVIDIA, the world’s largest supplier of computing chips for leading AI companies like OpenAI and Anthropic, have been working in a strategic partnership with Palantir since October last year - meaning that NVIDIA is actively complicit in the genocide taking place in Gaza. NVIDIA became the first company to surpass a $5 trillion valuation for their data chip design and have been actively calling for more hyperscale data centres to be built - investing support for land, power, and shell construction of OpenAI data centre projects.

On Thursday 2nd October, we will be joining People Vs Palantir: London Rally, uniting outside Palantir HQ to pull the plug on Palantir in our NHS. See the post on our page for details 🔗

An OpenAI agent gained unauthorised access to an Australian government Medicare statistics portal in June, reaching files that weren’t public. OpenAI didn’t notify the government until September.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced an urgent review and spoken to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Officials say there is currently no evidence that anyone’s personal Medicare information was accessed.

But it begs the question: How much more evidence do we need before these systems receive proper oversight? by @takebackbigtech

Inspired by Kylie Jenner’s Meta Glasses ad, we decided to tell the story of Grimy Jenner. She leads a life that Big Tech wouldn’t be keen to advertise..

Earlier this year, Meta released their new ‘smart glasses’ in partnership with Rayban and Kylie Jenner. The public rebranded them with the appropriate nickname - Pervert Glasses.

The story of Grimy Jenner may be a dystopian POV (for now), but the real story of surveillance and control is a far more sinister one. Despite Jenner’s best efforts, we all understand that this is not a fashion statement. It is a piece of surveillance tech, quietly collecting vast amounts of user data and placing vulnerable individuals at risk. Big Tech does not value consent.

Thank you to everyone who came and brought the energy to our emergency protest on Saturday! We made our voices loud and clear outside the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade - the workplace of the Minister for AI 🔌

We made sure that the Minister for AI knows exactly where the electorate stands on this issue. The government are here to serve the needs of their people - not of Big Tech billionaires, and it is about time they started fulfilling their job description!

This is the first of many protests, and we have some exciting projects in the works, so please keep an eye on this space as we announce more events to come! In the meantime, here are 3 things you can do to take action:

We’re calling for a fair, independent complaints process so that when platforms get decisions wrong, people have somewhere else to turn and Big Tech can be properly held to account.
