Malaize Hall runs Destined For Greater Girls out of Chicago. She started it in 2022. It houses survivors between twelve and twenty-five for up to a year, at addresses the organization does not publish, and it pays for the therapy, the lawyer and the degree.

What she wants people to stop believing is that it looks like a van and a stranger. It looks like a boyfriend. A cousin. A friend. And the part almost nobody knows: a buyer names a description and a price, and the trafficker goes and finds a person who fits it.

Pamela was twelve. She had no word for what was happening to her until she was grown. She works out of the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Special Victims Unit now.

Sooooooo I found out yesterday that JUNIE made it to @vibe … and my eyes have been sore ever since!!!! Like WHAT???? I deserve this??? Although Black women continue to be disproportionately impacted by HIV, we also continue to rise — through testing, PrEP, treatment, advocacy, and the power of community. Healing is possible. Thriving is possible. And every woman deserves the resources needed to protect her health and her future.
