I went to Trieste to pick up the packages for a November edition of my art & faith mail club. Thepackages haven't arrived as planned and after 3 hours I am still here, waiting .... I visited a lovely park with a small church in the middle and prayed out loud. Being alone, I don't do that and now I wonder if you do it and what differences do you notice, praying silently and loud? Please share yourexperience with me. by @taljasblessings

Seven years ago, I stood admiring a tall tree planted in front of my partner’s parents’ house. "Ginkgo. An ancient tree,” my partner told me. It's one of the oldest tree species in the world, often called a living fossil, as its species has existed for more than 200 million years. It has survived ice ages, major climate changes, and a world that has transformed around it countless times. I picked two leaves, framed them, and hung them in our living room. Only later did I notice that the way the two leaves were positioned made it look as though the larger leaf was sheltering the smaller one beneath it. I loved that image.

And perhaps that is why, when I look at those two leaves today, I see more than just a beautiful image. I see a person and God. The smaller leaf reminds me of our vulnerability, our fears, and all the heavy burdens we carry. The larger leaf reminds me of God, under whose care we can find shelter. The message is simple: We are not alone. We don’t have to carry everything alone. Jesus invites us to give our burdens to Him. To let Him walk with us, help us carry what feels too heavy, and make our journey a little lighter.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

– Matthew 11:28–30
