Hyrox Birmingham - Open Doubles 1.02.56
Ready or not? Not really! - Went into this one underprepared and under the weather after a hectic few months. But it was my top mates first Hyrox, so there was no way I wasn’t showing up—and he absolutely killed it! I promised myself a break after this race, but now I can feel that sub-hour finish calling. What we sayin @hutchy89 ?🔋🚀📈👊🏼

BTW: no Fugees original version available WTF!

Races March 2026 to May 2026:

1 - March 2026 - Hyrox Glasgow Pro doubles Debut with @elbarto8484 - Chip time: 1hr 5mins 55secs - we went in trying to get as close as possible to the 1hr mark. Came away with a decent time but defo got more to give. We will be back! 👊🏼🙌🏼

2 - April 2026 - Tatton Park 10k - Chip time: 42mins 32secs - was hoping for a PB on last years race, no cigar. Went out hot and couldn’t hold it when got to the hills. I’d like to say lesson learnt but sometimes you got send it and see what happens! The pain on my face in the image says it all.

3 - May 2026 - Hyrox Cardiff Pro Debut 1hr 20mins 38secs - free entry to this thanks to @emma_w1ll1amse winning a competition with @deepheatdeepfreeze_uk 🙏🙏
Aim was to go out easy to make sure I got through those heavier weights to the finish line. Felt like I could have ran faster but got cramp in my calf on the final run so probably a good idea I didn’t. Wall balls were death, big thanks to @adam_corlett_ace for sticking around and cheering me through 👊🏼. The Ace community is strong! Happy to get the first pro boxed off. We go again next season!

Next up is Manchester Half Mara at the end of May. Aiming to go sub 1hr 30. C’mon 👊🏼

Races October 2025 - February 2026 (been lazy with the post):

1 - October 2025 - Manchester half - Chip time: 1hr 30m 47s - took a last minute entry running as Emily. Legs served me well considering I’d done a Hyrox sim the day before.

2 - December 2025 - Hyrox London Open Doubles w/Mat W. - Chip time: 1hr 13 secs - the aim was to go sub 60. We were on track but took the foot off the gas on wall balls and accumulated 15 no reps 🤦🏻‍♂️ Lesson learnt and we go again next season.

3 - January 2026 - Hyrox Manchester Open Solo - Chip time: 1hr 12mins 8 secs - went into this feeling unwell, raced it anyway. Felt horrendous the whole way through but impressed I manage to get it done. No PB but not too far behind.

4 - February 2026 - Hyrox Mixed Doubles @emma_w1ll1amse Katowice, Poland - Chip time: 1hr 9mins 41 secs - We’d hoped to go sub 60 for this one as we’ve defo got it in us. Emma unfortunately had an injury which slowed our runs and meant I had to do some of the stations on my own. She was in pain for most of it but was determined to cross the finish line, doing so with a hugely respectable time!💪🏼🙌🏼

#halfmarathon PB 1:30:52! 🙌🏼 Challenging but enjoyable hometown course. Great to see so many friends on the way round. Atmosphere was 👌🏼.

Onto the next one. Sub 1.30 incoming 👊🏼

#Hyrox solo debut at #hyroxlondon #Olympia 2025

Completion time 1hr 11mins 14 secs

Really enjoyed this one. Finally getting my pre race fuel right and felt strong the whole way round. Running felt easy and could have pushed faster but wanted to ensure I had gas for the stations.

Great to get my first solo boxed off. Learnt a lot including my weaknesses and where to improve. Looking forward to improving through training and hitting the next race at pace 📈

Big thanks to @emma_williams_fitness and @rdc41 for the support on the day. Especially on the wall balls 💀

Hard work paying off. Keep building from here 📈

#hyroxmanchester2025 2nd time me and the bro in law took on doubles. Wanted to get as close as possible to the hour. Managed to get a 2 minute PB with a finish time of 1hr 3mins.

It felt a lot harder than last time round. Taking it easy over the Christmas break could be the reason why but it’s all about balance for me. Next up in the plan is to go hard into spring and take on my first singles. The sub hour doubles may have to come next season. Either way, we keep on building!

Side note: if you ain’t got this tune, I suggest you get it “it’s on you!”

First #Hyrox mixed doubles with @emma_williams_health_
Emma stepped up to the men’s weight with ease. I had to do a bit more on the farmers carry, but this had been compensated by Emma smashing out more burpees prior. Taking advantage of each other’s strengths paid off with a time of 1:05:20. Time to keep grafting and build from here! 📈

First #Hyrox boxed off. Have to say what an event. Incredible atmosphere and energy. Put in a solid effort in the men’s doubles with a finish time of 1:05:17.
Time to work on weaknesses and build from here 📈 Only one way to go 👆🏼🚀
Next two weeks are prepping for #hyroxmanchester mixed doubles with @emma_williams_health_

I’ve managed to really straighten my legs on standard L-Sit holds recently. Stretching out hip flexors has really helped. However, single arm #lsit adds to the challenge, and my legs are back to being bent again. Hyped to work on these though as they felt much easier than expected.

@phaseseven7 Hyrox Sim last weekend with @emma_williams_health_ First one we’ve done together and first mixed doubles for us both. Different tactics to male doubles. I had to put in more graft with the sled but Emma stepped up to the female pro weight and was leaving me on the runs 🏃‍♀️. We learnt a lot and will be ready to hit the real thing at pace!

#warringtonrunningfestival First 10k race with great company @emmawilliams635 @jack_greaves and @bailliex cheering us on! 🙌🏼 New PB’s all round (44 mins 37 seconds for me) and class to see so many friends running and pushing each other! 👊🏼

Continue to build and get faster from here 🚀
