CRSD Mondays. Each Monday, we highlight a story that reflects our values: Composure, Resilience, Self-Discipline, and Determination.
Those who share their stories receive a CRSD coin - earned, never bough - symbolizing the resolve to overcome and prevail, no matter how dark things get.
Today we present @talldarkfast the recipient of the 11th coin. A fellow FXDLS rider, he exemplifies tenacity and not giving up on your goals when things get really rough
Here his story in his own words.

« The CRSD coin cannot be bought; it is earned, often the hard way. It represents a truth I learned firsthand: luck didn’t save me. Composure, resilience, self-discipline, and determination did.
In 2019, a teenager crossed a double yellow line directly in front of me while I was traveling at 40 mph. I avoided a direct T-bone but struck the rear edge of her bumper. The impact launched me into a full-speed flip over my motorcycle. I landed flat on my back in the oncoming lane of traffic and blacked out. When I came to, I learned the truck approaching me had stopped inches from me.

My Dyna Low Rider S (FXDLS) slid across the pavement and slammed into the curb of opposing traffic. I survived, but survival was only the beginning.
I couldn’t ride for almost a year. When I tried, my back would seize after 15 minutes. Simple tasks became unbearable: carrying groceries, standing at the sink, sitting in the wrong chair. Sleep was nearly impossible. Doctors told me I was acandidate for L4–L5 spinal fusion.
Before the accident, my plan was to start creating riding content, something I’d dreamed about for years. That dream felt like it was dying along with the version of myself who could ride freely. I went through a mental breakdown, grieving not just riding, but the loss of my physical independence and identity.
Instead of accepting surgery and the permanent limitations that would follow, I chose another path. I committed to physical therapy for over a year and a half. Progress was slow, frustrating, and incomplete. Riding still hurt. Doctors told me this was likely my new reality. I refused to accept that »
