Cecathach is finally materialized. A supreme powerful being that will not just kill his opponents. He will completely destroy them.
This was a commission by @eoinmcminis the creator of the fantastic #famousbyourswords rule set which is getting an update. This brute of a mini is based on a 50mm scenic base and stands from the table to the edge of his crest at 65mm. I really had a great time with this. It started as a scribble, then became a black and white illustration and finally I had to make sure that I was able to capture my own design in 3d form lol.
As always working with Eoin is a breeze and I really really like the universe he created. Always a pleasure to create characters from #famousbyourswords.
Make sure to contact @eoinmcminis to get your own Cecathach.

Slaine is ready to have his axe kissed. Fomorians, Drune Lords, Romans, Normans, Crusaders he didn’t think it too many. Sculpted mainly with #beesputty and details with #procreateputty and #miliput. Standing at 32mm heroic scale this Irish mad lad will be available in resin if there is enough interest. So don’t hesitate to comment or DM. #miniaturesculpting #slainemacroth #tabletopminiatures #2000ad #miniaturecasting by @talos.miniatures

Finally everything coming together. Our Roman officer with a bit of a fantasy twist, rests his foot upon the heads of the enemy chieftains he was hired to slay. Talks to his employers with sword in hand while gesturing back to his waiting men. ''Pay up, and there will be no trouble''. I know that I would pay!
I really enjoyed sculpting this mini and I will say it again, @eoinmcminis was great to work with. Absolutely great! Please check the ''Famous by Our Swords'' rulebook https://ko-fi.com/s/8f3371f9c4 its really interesting.
If there are any questions about the process of sculpting the mini I will be happy to answer them to the best of my ability.

Final update on Pavise-Infantry set - minis are in their final form, and they are based on historical sources that make them fit more to the crusader forces or local militias of lands that hussites attack in counter offensive campaings. They have equipment taken from historical manuscripts and actual artifacts, fitting nicely for period of 1430-1460. With one exception, heads will be compatibile with Perry's HYW plastic minis and other AGM miniature parts, exceptional is head with bevor that have socket - it's still might be used in other minis but with a bit of work.

I want to adress here a question that is sometimes coming back in PM's - do i plan to order comissions for hussites?
No. I don't. Hussite Wars get more and more attention, and there is pattern of forgetting that this guys needs someone to fight against. Many companies already have Hussites in their offer, and sadly - most of them are made with lazy historical research, and they look quite generic and/or lacking character. (Imho notable exceptions are V&V Miniatures and Claymore Castings) Alas, there are already companies that take on hussites, and i see it as a ground that better left to the others and focus myself on projecting miniatures and bits for Germans, Austrians, Silesians or Hungarians who fought against them.

Set of pavise-infantry soldiers will be soon set for production process. Pavises will be avalible also in separate bit's pack, for every one who want to use them for conversions by @talos.miniatures

Continue on pavise soldiers from recently finished set
4th of our pavise soldiers is no common infantryman. His extended armor give him a rank for seasoned veteran or someone whealthy enough to buy more protective equipment. Most fun thing to research was folded bevor with sort of 'squarish' shape. It's a piece of equipment that is vanishing in later 15th century, being replaced with more advanced ideas for neck protection. Folded bevor like that, could be expensive in production and repair, and as such was probably not very common in early 15th century, yet it was depicted in different manuscripts - like Illustrations for Sir John Mandeville, Voyage d'outre mer - 1410-1420.
Kettle helmet is inspired on Silesian painting from 1420 a.d
Axe that is used by him as primary weapon it's based on archeological artifact from Racibórz (1st half of 15th century) while messer and way of carrying it coming from altar depiction from Vienna (1450). Scale sabatons and robe over the armor, are from bohemian monastic arts from 1420-1440. by @talos.miniatures

Hello, after long break. Since Hussite fever is really starting rolling on, we work hard to provide somehow more historically grounded miniatures to the subject, so here is ours take on another pavise soldier from period of roughly 30 years 1430-1460. @talos.miniatures make wonderful work with transforming bunch of historical sources into living character on the miniature battlefield, but back to the topic. Despite creating more 'common' tier of soldier i dug out intresting messer Idea, original manuscript that was use as a base for this weapon is 'Seremones de Sanctis' from monastic library from Żagań (dated circa as 1434 a.d). Second most iconic item is kettle helmet - take from Kriegstechnik military manuscript dated around 1437, so definitly not Bohemian source. This soldier, along with rest minis of this pack, will fit nicely also in 13 Years War in Poland, where mercenaries were a backbone of military effort. by @talos.miniatures
