Paps, Dad, Papito, Fadfoud, today the 13th of August would have been your 68th birthday. Unfortunately, life took you a week earlier.

Dad has such great taste for life and food. Anyone who knows him, must have tried or heard of his famous Christmas Turkey and must have seen him enjoying a glass of wine, vodka or arak depending on the mood. Three of his favorite things in life were riding his bike, playing tennis and smoking his cigar.

Papito has the biggest heart of all - nothing like you have ever seen in someone else. He is generous and giving. He enjoys hosting his friends for a cup of coffee or for some of the best food you can find in Abu Dhabi. He is generous with his advice and despite not being a man of many words, he always has the right ones.

Fad has a witty sense of humor and boundless kindness and warmth. He is a rare soul, one who is endlessly kind, sometimes a bit too kind. Talou used to tease him, saying, “Dad, you are too nice, don’t be that nice.” He would look at her with a ja2ra as if to say, “I’m gonna be nice anyway.” That was just who he was.

Pap loves us unconditionally and always had our backs no matter what. I remember that day when my sister was working in Dubai but not feeling the best and she called him. He picked her up, and invited her to spend the weekend with him in Abu Dhabi. He took her out on a beautiful boat tour and for a delicious dinner at his favorite restaurant.

Papi’s love for living life to the fullest has always been contagious. He is the heart of every party and was recognized by many as Daddy Cool. He always told me “Beit Saade bi 3icho lal miyye”. After every pick-up from the airport, he would tell me: “Yalla, mache nehke el chabeb w nenzal nekol bi Burj Hammoud”.

We are filled with gratitude for every moment spent with you. Thank you Pap for all the lessons, this beautiful life you gave us and for always believing in us. Thank you for every message you sent, every kiss you planted on our cheeks, every game of Tawle we shared, and every Turkey you prepared. Your spirit, laughter, and love for life will forever remain in every heart your crossed.

Rest in peace, Dad. 'Till we party again!
