🚨 Talva's Write Away Column ✍️🏾🗞 If you were looking for the place where pure vocal mastery, uninhibited joy, and electric energy collided, all roads led to the @kehlani tour, featuring, THE Grammy-Award-Winning, @durandbernarr ! (Yes, I'm a fan!) ​What a night! Kehlani (My fellow, Bay Area Native) (Ye!) (I am now a fan. She's dope! 🔥), proved to be a class act from start to finish. Not just as a powerhouse headliner, but as a generous champion of the art by using her stage to showcase exciting new artists. That kind of support for the next wave of artist is sincerely refreshing to see. 👏🏾💙 ​And then… there was, my guy. The person we went to see, Durand Bernarr. 🎶 ​This was actually our second time seeing Durand live, but this time around, we (my sister Laydbug 🐞 and I) indulged in the VIP experience, and wow, are we glad we did! Meeting him in person was the absolute highlight. He was incredibly personable, relatable, lovable, and genuinely warm and fuzzy. Talking to him not only felt like meeting a star 💫, but also felt like reuniting with that favorite cousin you’ve known your whole life. ​And can we talk about how he looks in person?! 😍 Photos and videos do him zero justice. His skin was flawless; perfect even, and he is flat-out gorgeous up close. I loved every single moment shared with him; he is such a down-to-earth, beautiful soul. ​When he hit the stage, he brought explosive energy, razor-sharp comedy, (Per usual) and that VOICE! That God-given instrument with range, control, and soul that leaves you completely breathless. And the vibe didn't stop when the stage lights went down. Durand carried that exact same infectious energy right into the after-party, connecting with fans in an intimate setting.
