WHERE DID THE NAME JALENS KIDS COME FROM?
jalen absolutely loved kids. this was summer 2019 and he was working at the childcare center. he would often come home talking about the varying interactions he would have with kids. there was always a funny story to be shared. @jalenskidsfoundation was born out of Jalens love for kids. he was a junior in college preparing to graduate the following year with a bachelors in elementary education. we carry on his memory everyday we miss him.

BE HUMBLE.

whether it’s 2000 students. 200 students. Or 2 students. we will bring the same energy with the same life saving message:

you’re not meant to do this life on your own. you have people around you to encourage you and to support when life gets hardest. #AskForHelp taken in Auburn, Washington by @tamaleaa

Mahalo, @hawaiinewsnow , for helping us share this important story! 💚

The goal of the Jalen Youth Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Awareness Day is simple: to preserve life.

We want to create safe spaces where our youth, families, and community know they can seek help, be heard, and be surrounded by people who are prepared to connect them with the support and resources that can help save a life.

You are somebody’s someone. Your life matters. 💚

A special mahalo to Pastor @tamaleaa for allowing us to honor Jalen and carry his name and story forward through this event. We do not take that responsibility lightly. We are committed to continuing this work beyond one event—breaking the stigma, creating conversations, connecting people to help, and reminding our community that every life matters and we all have a part in helping preserve it.

This is only the beginning. 💚

You Are Somebody’s Someone.
