Just want to start off and say that I have finally reached the point in my musical development where I’m actually trusting in my technique that I’ve been building/learning within these 2 years🙌🏽

I used to think a lot that I have to sound a certain way and master a certain technique by a certain age because I hear my peers around me have greater strengths then what I had at the time and they had more accolades then I did. But the more I started to sit with God and have talks with my people ( especially @michelefowlin ) they reminded me that comparison is the thief of joy and that in this world of music, anytime that I perform, compete, audition…always remember that the competition is not with other people but yourself. You always have to think “what can I do this time to showcase my special gift” and “how can I improve on this technique so next time it’s solid”.

Once you realize and understand that your journey is about you and no one else, you’ll start to see your focus change and the way God opens doors for you. We are ALL deserving of being in those important rooms no matter if someone has more accomplishments than us…God put you in that space for a reason and you have to work off of that mindset.

The growth that I’ve seen within myself musically makes me appreciate this gift more and I can’t imagine what my sound will become 5 years from now. This is only the beginning and I will continue to work hard on my craft till the end of my purpose.💕 taken in Towson University Center For The Arts by @tamiaaliyahj

BACK TO BACK VIDEOS?!?!!! I don’t want to toot my own horn but….that’s pretty great of you ask me🙌🏽

Some of y’all know by now that I’m a yapper and I will yap for HOURS on end but there’s just sooo many things to talk about….at least that’s what I tell myself😭 But first and foremost I want to talk about GOD!!! who has been showing for me in more ways than one and even though I hit a little bump in the round with me feeling down these past couple of weeks, he has revealed a lot of things about myself and people around me (the good and the ugly) which has made reevaluate myself and refocus my spirit and energy with the simple question “God what is it you want me to do?”

A lot of the times we all get so caught up in things and people that without realizing it, we’re pulling away not only from God but from our purpose that he has already planned for us. It takes a level of discipline to make the decision of changing old habits and the company you keep around because making those decisions takes you out of comfortability. And a lot of times we confuse comfortability with positivity…YOU have got to be okay with being uncomfortable, that’s the only way you’ll be able to grow and prosper and allow God to move through you.

I don’t know if you’ve read this far because I know it’s a lot but to whoever is reading this, know that with whatever it is you’re going through God will always be right there with you. His silence doesn’t mean he’s not listening, he’s just doing that spiritual work that will eventually show up at a time where he knows you need it most. Love y’all and just a reminder…don’t let anyone tell you your purpose and what you should do, follow your heart and listen to what God is telling you💕

I know it’s been a minute but I’m BACK🤭 these past two months have been something!! it was a lot of good and also some bad but nonetheless, God always pull through and he definitely has been showing up with these amazing opportunities and I will forever be grateful that I’m to experience these moments as I develop into my soon to be career in the world of ✨OPERA✨

I never posted video from my scholarship recital that I won so I decided to go ahead and post one of the videos from that recital. This song is something I’ve been working on since last semester and when I first got it was challenging to say the least to learn all of these triplets and fast tempo but I ca honestly say the growth of this piece is TREMENDOUS and I can’t thank my voice teachers (they know who they are💕) for working with me on this piece.
