In one week $600 has been raised for the Nova Ukraine charity. Trend Friends, you've reached out and I've sent $130 worth via the mail. And a huge thank you to @608_vintage and @bellasazi for promoting them at your small businesses. Together, we've raised $600!!!! I vow to make as many as I can, and I encourage anyone else who wants to that they do the same. Small differences added together make huge differences.

I wish Martin Luther Jr. were alive today, and that his kids could have grown up with a dad. We still need him and black and brown men and women are still being discriminated by too many people. Unfortunately, they are also being attacked and killed just like MLK was assainted in 1968.😥

We need to do better! When I was a teacher, I always celebrated MLK and tried to teach his lessons.

When I taught kindergarten on MLK Day, I would randomly give kids either a black bracelet or a white bracelet. Then, I announced all the kids with the white bracelet could go and play, and the kids with the black bracelets had to do a writing activity. After shouts of that's not fair. I would then explain my lesson of the day. It's not right to treat people differently based on the color of the skin. Those kindergarteners are now adults, and I hope and pray they may have been influenced by my MLK lessons. We ALL need to do our part to make sure someday there is equality for all!❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Drop a heart if you're a dog lover.

Ellie was cold this morning after coming in from outside, so I bundled her up in her favorite blanket. I think she loves it as much as I love her and that is A LOT!

This little girl grew up to be the very first female Vice President elect, and the first Black and Asian American Vice President in the White House. This little guy and his amazing smile made my day yesterday when he rang our doorbell and said, "trick or treating." I'm blessed that Ezra and his wonderful family are our neighbors. His absolute favorite show is Alphablocks, so he dressed up as magic e. Together everyone spelled out B-0-N-E-S, and his baby sister Avery was dressed up as the bones. As a former teacher, I love that he can't get enough of the alphabet. He can already read and spell words! Great parenting! I gave him some things to help his love of words when he rang our doorbell, a bag of his favorite candy, and I also made a mask for him.

I call this little guy Oliver the Owl. I fell in love with owls because of my Grandma Dieter. When we would go to Grandpa and Grandma Dieter’s house in Richland Center, my siblings and cousins would make a game of going around and counting how many owl figurines, pictures, etc… we could find. I have several owl necklaces that I love because they remind me of my grandma. Back to this craft…I saw the owl and my mind started thinking what fun craft could I do with it. Next, I found a triangle shadow box, gathered a twig from our yard, Mod Podged some old sheet music that I bought a couple of years ago at a flea market, added a holiday pick, some festive ribbon that was my mom’s, and then it was complete. I hope someone enjoys it as much as I did making it. In the picture of my grandparents and me (Tami) at Christmas, I’m wearing an outfit that my mom sewed for me and also under the Christmas tree is a white snowman with a red knitted hat that she crafted. I guess this is where my love of crafting and sewing came from. The last picture is a picture of my brothers and me at my grandma’s 90th birthday celebration. She lived to be 95 years old! Boy, do I miss her.

Family is everything!!!!! So happy to see my dad. Due to COVID, I can't visit him at the nursing home. So I treasure every doctor appointment that I can see him. Please mask up everyone because the reality is I can't resume my regular visits with my dad until COVID is no longer a threat. by @tamiburke8

Yesterday was a blast with my hubby. We got cinnamon rolls at The Wedge to have when we were kayaking, lunched at The Drafthouse, shopped at Adorn and Velvet & Tulle, watched Hamilton, and finished the evening having a yummy piece of the cake Jason made for me.
