Hey LA friends! We are joining forces to produce and distribute ready made meals for first responders and all those displaced from the ongoing Eaton canyon fires. A comforting and well balanced made meal will go far into providing energy and sustanance during these unprecedented times. We are focused on curating a healing meal to lift the spirits and provide support to those affected.

Gratefully we have been provided some funding to make such meals. However we are accepting monetary donations from those who are able to, we definitely appreciate it! ALL donated funds go to the cost of fresh ingredients and supplies to nourish and support those displaced and working on the frontlines.

We are looking to deliver meals throughout next week starting Monday to Pasadena, Altadena, and surrounding east side communities affected from the Eaton fire

If you have been affected or know of any locations who need it — please reach out directly through DM

I’m putting my heart & foot into this one… I think it’s time I pivot real quick into the thing I hold so closely to me — FEEDING MY PEOPLE AROUND ME. So, let’s eat!

Tammadha translates to ‘regular’ or ‘neutral’ in Lao — reflective of my approach on life. My lifetime is represented by the hands that fed (and still feed me)… and I want to carry that on & expand by sharing in whatever way I can.

I’m inviting you to my first dinner series where there I share Lao dishes that I grew up eating. There will be LOTS OF STICKY RICE, wine, cocktails & 5 course meal! Come eat before all of your Halloween / Saturday festivities, bring your costumes or come dressed up — nothing warms my heart more than being able to share experiences through food. I am BEYOND excited for this one ~

I took my mom, grandma, and sister to Chinatown. Mama power walked to these adorable bell shaped fruit that I had never seen. She turns to me and goes, ‘I ATE THESE AS A KID IN LAOS… I HAVENT SEEN THEM SINCE I HAD THEM THERE’ — we often see our parents as the ‘adults’ we met them as and this very moment unmasked my mom. I saw younger her being nourished. She’s in a position to afford more than just one, she’s in a position to share this piece of memory, I get to relive a part of that & create a new one of my own. Look at how excited she is 💕 by @tammadha.la

I ran out of coconut milk and figured I’d make something close to jungle curry. The sauce is very fragrant, aromatic, savory, and spicy. Pompano cooked in any way is a forever favorite of mine by @tammadha.la

All scattered about, you smell the aromatics as you walk closer to the greenhouses at Grandma’s house. Mint, basil, cilantro, spring onions, lemongrass, kefir lime leaves, and way, way more. The olfactories awaken as I pluck what’s needed for my dishes and then some 🌱 by @tammadha.la

One of my favorite summer dishes growing up — ynat dok biit: stuffed honey suckle flowers with lemongrass, pompano, garlic, fish sauce, chilis, and dill. We then steam them (not pictured here because we inhaled them). The honeysuckle flowers encase the savory, comforting bite that we pair with sticky rice. by @tammadha.la

Tammadha means regular, plain, neutral in Lao. It was the first word that came to mind. I couldn’t sum up this lifetime as regular or plain, it’s quite the opposite if anything. My lifetime is represented by the hands that fed (and still feed me)… the hands that have reaped soil in a country they had to flee to save themselves from war… the hands that had to start over and over again, and with all the gentleness and patience they exude, things kept growing time and time again.

This is all dedicated to my family who cooks breakfast, lunch, and dinner no matter what little we had, we always managed to have an abundance in some way or form. I miss my great grandpa. I miss both of my grandpas, it’s a matriarch household now. Memories forever etched in time. Recipes engrained in my heart forever. I’m embracing it all. by @tammadha.la
