I dedicated the last 5 years to studying mid-century modern architecture, interior design, building science to make this a reality. It’s interesting how the final frontier for a creative is architecture.

I designed our home, managed and hired every sub contractor, sketched every piece of cabinetry, every door, couch, the layout, every material selection, even the dinner plates — each one a consideration and a statement about how we want to live as a family.

I made a random TikTok account to remind myself to document the journey. In 2021 we quietly set out on a mission, acquiring land, designing, permitting, envisioning. The final pictures will make this look like it was easy, this was without a doubt the most difficult and stressful endeavor I’ve ever taken on - but it was worth it.

4 years ago, after a year of research, I drove up to a 5 acre plot of wooded land and told @zahree_yuh I was going to build a house for her. right. here. - she agreed. I can’t thank her for believing in me and trusting that I could do this for her and for our family. When you build something from the ground up you get to name it - home is Zaria’s Butterfly Garden.

Up next is a barn for our horses, and a coop for chickens and goats. A simple life. by @tamon_

We still like to flex our creative muscles. For the past month, the world has been glued to football. But we know the game has never been the only thing people are watching.

They’re watching the jerseys, the celebrations, the style, the neighborhoods, the music, the barbershops, the flags, and the people who carry it all. So we made something about that. Yes, The World Is Watching.
