Make a "reel" difference for Tampa Bay! 🎣

Tampa Bay Watch and Audubon Florida are looking for volunteers for the 33rd Annual Fishing Line Island Cleanup taking place October 17–25 🚤🌿

We're seeking volunteers with boats, kayaks, and paddleboards to help remove fishing line and marine debris from critical bird habitats before nesting season begins. Tampa Bay is home to 15,000–20,000 nesting waterbird pairs, and your efforts can help prevent injuries and create safer shorelines for future generations.

Help us tackle fishing line pollution to restore the bay, one shoreline at a time!

Help Protect a Tampa Bay Bird Island! 🐦

Ready to make a real impact for Tampa Bay? Join us as we install oyster reef balls along the shoreline of Coquina Key Bird Island to help protect critical nesting habitat for pelicans, cormorants, and wading birds.

Years of boat traffic have caused severe erosion, threatening the mangroves these birds depend on. Together, we'll build living shorelines that help stabilize the island, reduce erosion, and create valuable oyster habitat. 💙

⚠️ This is a physically demanding project! Oyster reef balls weigh 200 lbs, and volunteers work in teams to move and place them along the shoreline.
