The Anesthesia Care Team (ACT) is all about teamwork. Anesthesiologists, CAAs, CRNAs, and residents work together to provide safe, high-quality care for every patient.

Where do CAAs fit in?
• Work under the supervision of an anesthesiologist
• Administer anesthesia and manage airways
• Monitor patients and keep them stable during surgery
• Help increase access to care as the demand for anesthesia providers grows

We are looking for motivated, dependable, and passionate students to help lead the Society of Pre-Anesthesiology Assistants for the upcoming year!

Available Positions:
• Vice President (VP)
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Outreach Chair
• Social Media Chair
• Professional Development Chair

Requirements:
✔ Must have been an active SPAA member this past semester
✔ Must have paid membership dues
✔ Submit your CV/Resume + essay responses through the application form
✔ Selected applicants will complete a short online interview

We are excited to announce our next SPAA Guest Speaker 🎉

Join us as we welcome Kyle McClellan, a current CAA, simulation instructor, and former Aggie, who graduated from Case Western’s AA program in Houston. He will be sharing his journey, experiences, and advice for students interested in the anesthesiologist assistant path.

SPAA got the chance to visit the CAA program at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and learn more about the journey to becoming an Anesthesiologist Assistant 🩺

From touring the simulation labs to hearing about the curriculum and clinical training with Baylor Scott & White Health, it was an awesome experience for our members interested in the profession.

Huge thank you to the dean and faculty for welcoming us and showing us around!

Excited for what’s ahead for future CAAs 🙌
