Today, @TanenbaumCHAT came together for Israel’s National Day of Remembrance, marking three years since the tragedy of October 7. Todah Rabah to the students, faculty and staff who created a meaningful assembly through words, music and dance. As Principal Renee Cohen ’96 shared this morning, “May we honour the memory of those we lost by living with purpose, by sharing their stories, remembering our history, and standing tall b’yachad.” For more photos from the assembly, visit tanenbaumchat.org/TanenbaumCHAT-Commemorates-October-7. #findyourself #neverforgetting #TanenbaumCHAT #october7 taken in Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto by @tanenbaumchat

Before we sign off for Shabbat, Shemini Atzeret, and Simchat Torah, we wanted to share some photos from this week’s Morning Minyan. It was a particularly festive minyan because it was held during Chol Ha’moed Sukkot. Wishing everyone a meaningful and festive weekend. #findyourself #celebratingchagim #TanenbaumCHAT taken in Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto by @tanenbaumchat

On Monday, September 28, @TanenbaumCHAT welcomed members of the Toronto Police Service (TPS) to learn about Sukkot from four of our Madrichim (Student Leaders). Todah Rabah to Grade 11 students for sharing an introduction to Sukkot with our special guests. As we prepare to welcome both Sukkot and Shabbat this evening, our @TanenbaumCHAT students enjoyed a busy morning of deliveries!

Our Singer and Zagdanski Families Learning Resource Centre transformed into our annual lulav and etrog distribution hub, where students, faculty and staff who placed orders could collect their sets. Meanwhile, our Student Ambassadors also delivered delicious challahs to our neighbours as a small token of gratitude for the warmth and kindness they show our school community.

Wishing everyone Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sukkot Sameach! #findyourself #deliveringkindness #tanenbaumchat taken in Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto by @tanenbaumchat

Todah Rabah to everyone who joined us for our Grade 9 Parents Welcome! It was a pleasure to welcome the families of the Class of 2030 and share in the excitement as we begin the 2026-2027 school year. Thanks as well to Emma Fogel, MSW, RSW for sharing her keynote address in which she shared practical, realistic coping strategies to help our parents support their teens through everyday challenges. On Friday at lunch, @TanenbaumCHAT hosted our annual Club & Committee Fair. From charitable initiatives to sports, arts, business, Israel, and —if you can believe it— pickles, students had the perfect opportunity to live our school motto: Find Yourself. Kol Hakavod to all the students who brought their creativity, energy, and enthusiasm to our Sydney Himel z”l Sports Field. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this year! #findyourself #gettinginvolved #tanenbaumchat taken in Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto by @tanenbaumchat

Before we sign off for Shabbat, we wanted to share a few photos from some of our Jewish Studies classes this week. As part of their learning, many of our students took a walk to G. Ross Lord Reservoir for Tashlich, an ancient ritual of symbolically casting away the mistakes and missteps of the past year and reflecting on how we can grow and improve in the year ahead. For many of our Grade 9 students, this was their first experience with Tashlich — a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect and start the new year with intention. #ShabbatShalom #FindYourself #StartingFresh #TanenbaumCHAT taken in Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto by @tanenbaumchat
