HAPPY BIRTHDAY FYST🥳🥳

Amefyst
#613

Position - all. Blocker, Jammer, pivot
League Treasurer
SDRD member since 2022

💛meaning behind derby name
🖤 Amefyst and it’s a play on Amethyst because my favorite color is purple, I like stones/ crystals, and it’s one of my favorite character’s name from the show Steven Universe!

💛favorite track snack or post-bout treat?
🖤 I love snagging a burrito after a bout!

💛 Most memorable SDRD moment?
🖤 Being on American Idol for 5 seconds during an episode opening montage! Me and a few teammates were skating downtown coincidentally at the same time American Idol was filming and they asked if they could film some footage of us to use for the episode!

I love roller derby.
These were all from my team’s (@sdrollerderby) bout on 8/23 against the amazing @sfvrollerderby!

All pictures were taken by either my husband, @maliabumanlagphoto, or @alysonaliano and @valeriepetralia (each person is tagged in their respective photos!) Thank you so much for these rad photos!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMEFYST💜💜💜
#613
Jammer, Blocker, Pivot

💛meaning behind derby name
🖤 Amefyst is a play on Amethyst which is my favorite colored stone and my favorite character from Steven Universe. My number is the date of when the kpop group BTS formed!

💛 any crazy derby related injuries
🖤 Not really a crazy injury, more of a dumb one; 1 sprained my knee by tripping over a skatebag during Leprecharnage 2018
There’s video evidence of this too

💛 any derby stories
🖤 Me and a couple of teammates in 2018 were in a few opening shots of American Idol by accident! We went down to seaport village area to take some pictures on our skates and American Idol happen to be doing auditions there! A producer saw us skating around and wanted to get a few shots of us “tough derby people” for their episode!
