My BFF @hodakotb dropped gem after gem on this stage! Hard to choose just one to share, but this story I love: Fresh out of college, Hoda drove her mom’s car around the Southeast for 10 days trying to find work. It was NO after NO… 27 total. On her way home, she got lost in Mississippi and stumbled on a news station. She walked in hoping for a job but expecting another NO… instead got the YES that changed everything. EV-VER-REE-THING!

It was the sweetest reminder. Even when it feels like a season of rejection, keep going, keep asking, keep showing up.

My aunt Jean is 85 and lives in NY. She got on a plane alone and met me in TX for my cousin Tenisha’s memorial in Beaumont… but not before surprising my cousin Ashley - her granddaughter. Ashley was at the front desk of the hotel she manages in Houston and watched her grandma walk in. She lost it. They haven’t seen each other in a few years. 😭 You should know that my aunt was just in Atlanta two weeks ago visiting my mom and me.

Her philosophy: As long as my feet can rise from the ground, I’m going to keep moving. DO NOT STOP MOVING.

This is how I want to be at 85.
