Berlin was hard. I came into the race with a lot of doubt due to my left knee which had been bothering me the last few weeks during taper. I was hoping it was maranoia/taper tantrums and willed myself to believe it was just before race day and didn’t feel any pain come race morning. I decided I was going to send it but adjusted my goal to a 3:40 to get ready for the warm temps. I felt my knee 5km into the marathon but thought holding pace was manageable. Around the half mark I could feel the heat sneak up on me and started feeling my legs working through the incline between miles 14 and 18, but my knee finally betrayed me at mile 17 and I could feel it every step on impact. At this point I knew my goal had to shift and slowed down a bit to see if I could just PB, but the pain along with the heat got to me and slowed me down to the point where I knew I just needed to drag myself across the finish without any serious damage. I was able to cross the line for my second fastest marathon and was glad it was over. No disappointment. Just glad I can rest before we start again for Tokyo 😅 Still a great experience and can learn a lot from that race, but the best thing I will take back with me from Berlin is the great times shared with all the friends who came to race and support. by @tankeruva

Not a pretty ending to the Berlin training block but still celebrating. Feeling fitter than ever and hit 2 100km weeks during the last build, but had to skip a few runs this week to preserve my knee and ensure I can make the start line. Thanks @thismessyhappy for getting me to the start of all my marathons. Here’s to the end of my 4th marathon training block. by @tankeruva

2026 NYC Half for the archives. Second half marathon in the books and had so much fun this year compared to the sufferfest from last year’s NYC Half trying to go sub 1:45. Not sure if any other half can top NYC. by @tankeruva

My legs were fresh and never felt better in the last year and the weather was perfect. I was confident in my fitness and coaxed myself into going for a time goal of 3:40 during the race. The sensible approach was to just go for that 10 minute PB I had been planning for all year but I have always been pretty conservative with my running and today I wanted to test my limits fully knowing the risk. I was also bonk-curious and definitely knew by mile 17 that I was most likely going to hit that wall and it was glorious. I walked 3 times, cursed at my legs to keep moving, and was ready to throw in the towel. But thanks to @bricksrunclub for lifting my spirits at their cheer station and also to a friend who had caught up to me and stuck with me to get the best out of me to fight the bonk for at least a sub 4 finish. I am proud of this finish. It was tough and I now can truly appreciate that the marathon is hard and that finishing for yourself and supporting others on this running journey is all that matters. Also thanks to Ben and Mary @thismessyhappy for getting me to the start line again. I have learned so much from them and the training community they have built. See you in London. by @tankeruva

First half marathon in the books. Much tougher than the full in my opinion, but it could have been the course. The climb through Times Square at mile 11 to the rolling hills of Central Park felt brutal and I had no kick to the finish line 😂 I am definitely proud to have maintained the sub 8:00 pace and appreciate the training plan, coaching, and community Ben and Mary (@thismessyhappy ) provide to this solo runner. by @tankeruva
