For the longest time, I’ve watched love through a viewfinder.

I’ve stood behind cameras, freezing moments that people would go back to years later. I’ve witnessed countless stories unfold in front of me proposals, weddings, tears, laughter, hugs that lasted a little longer than usual, and the kind of smiles that only happen when you’re surrounded by the people you love.

It’s been my job for years to preserve these memories for others.

But somewhere along the way, I never stopped to think about how it would feel when it was finally my turn.

And now that it is, I don’t think I have the right words for it.

A few days ago, I got engaged to the love of my life.

Looking through these photographs feels different. Not because they’re better than any image I’ve ever taken, but because for the first time, I’m emotionally attached to every frame in a way I never understood before.

I now understand why people get emotional over photographs.

Because one day, a moment is happening in real time. The next, it’s a memory. And somehow, a photograph becomes the bridge between the two.

I’ve spent years helping people hold on to their most precious memories, but standing on the other side has given me a whole new appreciation for what these moments truly mean.

More than the celebration, the outfits, the decorations, or the pictures themselves, what stays with me is a simple feeling of gratitude.

Gratitude for finding someone who feels like home.

For finding a partner I can laugh with, grow with, annoy for the rest of my life, and build a future with.

For finding a love that makes the next chapter feel exciting instead of uncertain.

This is the beginning of a new journey for us, and if this feeling is any indication of what’s ahead, I genuinely can’t wait.

And to the girl standing beside me in these photographs. Thank you for choosing me ❤️

This was one of them.

The laughter of haldi, painted in colors of joy.
The rhythm of sangeet, where hearts danced as one.
The quiet vows of the pheras, sacred and eternal.
The after-party, where time slipped into unfiltered happiness.
