Casting Announcement 🎬🔥

I’m excited to officially announce that Taofik has been cast as Jesus in the short-film, Tempted. A reimagining of the story of Jesus in the wilderness.

From the moment I began writing Tempted, I knew this role needed an actor to embody stillness, fire, grace, and quiet intensity. I wanted an actor to play Jesus in a different way than we’ve seen on the screen so far. Many brilliant actors have played Jesus..similar to many actors playing the Joker or Sherlock Holmes. I wasn’t looking for someone to deliver the most epic or traditionally ‘perfect’ portrayal of Jesus we’ve ever seen on screen. I was looking for someone who could bring humanity, vulnerability, and their true self to the role.

Taofik carried his essence into his audition. He was willing to be vulnerable, and gave the scene an underlying energy of respect.

I’m honored to have him breathe life into this character in the reimagined story of Jesus in the wilderness.

Officially 1 month away from filming. 🎥
