Healing isn’t as easy as I’ve heard people saying to me “oh, come on! Wipe your tears! It’s just a bad day”
That day turn into weeks, weeks into months, months into years.

Lately uncovering real feelings is ridiculed. Most of people are “professionals” with internships on Wikipedia, they know better than doctors with years of study.

Understood? You are not depressed ! You have bad day!
You are not ADHD person! You are just trying to be trendy!

We have deadlines. We have errands. Real life doesn’t stop just because the sun’s out.

But for a little while, all of that went quiet — just Ostuni, the wind, and streets of historical centre. 🛵🤍

Money doesn’t give happiness. But it can get you a little Vespa to ride around the White City with someone who knows every corner of it — and for a little while, that’s about as good as it gets.

Some days “enough” isn’t about having no plans. It’s about stealing a little peace in the middle of all of them.

It Was my first time in Locorotondo, yessss, 25km from where we live- Ostuni, more than 10 years of coming to Puglia.

What can I say: beautiful, clean… not only becuase of its white walls, but it feels like people in historical centre get together to keep the place neat.
Narrow streets, geraniums and some green plants everywhere- the kind of place that make you walk slowly without realising it. So quiet (Ostuni Is definitely more lively, but in the daily chaos- it was a nice change!)

We stayed longer than planned.
We got a parking fine (well…)
€25 if paid within 5 working days.
Why? Pasquale waved me into that spot, so I followed, without checking signs.
And… he lost the fine too 😂
It has now doubled.
So still not paid 🫣

Somewhere out there, the Locorotondo Polizia Locale is waiting for us.
We’ll get there. Probably

I need to start the day with coffee, I got my @delonghiofficial Rivelia last year, as a present.
It had to be beige, as Jade Green was little bit too much together with my mint cupboard 🫣

Long time ago I wrote about being happy about small things. Season for jasmine flowers is almost finished, now blooming Bougainvillea around makes surrounding looks even prettier 😍

Being an expat in Puglia ain’t always easy, but people here are less depresso (well, can’t talk about myself 🫣🤣) as they have vit D and Sea on daily basis

For Locals - just Tuesday, like every other day.
For first time visitors - challange.

This is not a parking problem.
This is a man trying to get into his own garage.
This street was built in around 1400s.
Nobody considered the car situation at the time 🫣

Some days I don’t see the point of much.

Depression does that — it doesn’t announce itself dramatically. It just quietly removes the colour from things. From plans, from mornings, from the version of yourself you thought you’d be by now.

I don’t drive scooter. Never learned. It’s one of those things on the long list of things I keep meaning to do and somehow never get to.

But Pasquale found an old silver Vespa. Took it away for renovation. And asked to paint it mint.

My colour. He knew.

I dreamed about mint Vespa… and one day it was just there — mint green, tan leather seat, parked outside home in the Puglia sun.

I don’t drive it. It’s technically his.

But every time I look at it, something in me quietly lifts.

Not because of the Vespa. Because of what it means — that someone sees me, even on the days I can barely see myself.

Some days, that’s more than enough.

Nobody told me that moving to southern Italy would turn me into a person who actually sits down for breakfast.

The irony?
Italians stand at the bar for their cornetto.

Turns out I moved here just to do it my own way. 🫣

I am definitely team sweet breakfast, but Eggs Royale + Florentine is my salty fav option.

Happy to hear some sweet Protein breakfast options, apparently this is the way to start the day.

Took me longer than I’ll admit to understand that this place runs on a completely different operating system.

My husband is from here. He warned me. I didn’t listen.
So I am warning you- officially, in carousel format, because some lessons need visual aids 😁
🇵🇱girl, 🇮🇹 life, permanently confused but somehow at peace.

Save this for the friend who thinks moving to southern Italy will be like a Diane Lane movie.

Spoiler: it’s better. And much, much weirder.

Puglia, kierunek, który coraz częściej jest wybierany na wakacje lub dłuższy weekend.
Wiele osób myśli, że to dolce vita, ale prawda jest taka, że żeby tu mieszkać na stałe trzeba czasu, żeby się do niego przyzwyczaić.
Przyjechałam tu z Londynu na południe Włoch. Kontrast był i nadal jest niesamowity.
Z tego wszystkiego wyciągam wniosek i mówię o tym głośno: od Włochów, zwłaszcza tutaj, na południu można się nauczyć, żeby zwolnić, chociaż szczerze to w wielu przypadkach to było irytujące na samym początku, ale to piano piano ma sens…

Lubię usiąść jako pasażer naszej miętowej vespy i przejechać się po przedmieściach.
Myślami jestem tu, a czasami gdzieś indziej….

Np. W Lidlu w Polsce i kupuje twaróg 😂

Kupuję dzieciom zabawki,
a potem ustawiam je tak, żeby ładnie wyglądały w pokoju.

To wszystko tak ładnie wygląda…. Przez 5 min 🫣
Po tym wszystkim wraca chaos, życie i wszystko to, czego nie widać na zdjęciach.

Chociaż chwilę jest “ogarnięte”, nie wiem czy tak jest u większości z was? 😂
