Some moments are too beautiful for words… too powerful & heartfelt to ever forget ❤️ Beyond the medals, beyond the applause… these are the moments that carry the full meaning of my life… Forever & eternally grateful with everyone who pitched in. I am so lucky we got to live this together 🙏🏻 by @tapacademyprague
I could not post Madeline's final dance. This is her semi final, because her final dance was too emotional. The emotion was too much. This dance. This dancer. This story. It is all there - no explanation needed. @madelinescrase you left us sobbing. We were all in pieces when you came off the stage. This was more than a tribute to the IDO dance world and more specifically the IDO Tap World Championships and all it has meant to you. This was your way of saying thank you to everyone who has been part of your journey. Your competitive dance journey has been nothing short of amazing. This world championship stage has seen you grow up from a cheeky 11 year old to the most beautiful and mature young lady with so much talent and passion for what you do. It has been a journey with the highest of highs and the lowest lows, injuries, self doubt and challenges. This year was no different. But you rose above it all and shone brighter than ever. You are a true testament of resilience. Am I ready to see you 'retire'? No I am not. Am I ready to see you spread your wings and nurture a new generation of dancers. Yes I am. @luke_scrase you have been a rock for your sister and her biggest cheerleader. You have believed in her and trusted her. Your part in this journey cannot and will not go unnoticed. Mads - thank you for the dances. Thank you for the memories. Thank you. Title: In Case You Don't Live Forever Position: Finalist 6/32 Choreography: Madeline Scrase #dance #dancememories #dancelife #dancer #dancefuture by @tapacademyprague
@luke_scrase these 135 seconds will remain with me forever. This solo was everything. It was dance, it was art, it was sport. My admiration for you is not because I am your mother - it is because I am a lover of art and theatre. And that is what this was. You had a vision and you brought it to life. No matter what happens in the future - this was YOUR night you became the FIRST South African to become Adult Male World Champion at IDO World Tap Dance Championships. Own it. Keep it close to your heart and when you doubt what you are capable of - watch it. Thank you @madelinescrase for believing in your brother. You choreographed something amazing and you were humble enough to take his input and feedback and build on what you had created. Together you created something truly spectacular - and everyone who saw it, knew it. You called it from the first time you put it on the stage. This was a winner 🥇 Title: Violent Crimes Position: WORLD CHAMPION 1/27 Choreography: Madeline Scrase & Luke Scrase #worldchampion #winning #dancer #ido #siblingdancers by @tapacademyprague
What can I say about these two young adults that I have the privilege of calling my children? They are probably of the most disciplined, determined and diligent people I have met. But this year everything just went up a notch. The amount of work, thought, science and planning that went into their dances was truly humbling. They were not just dancers they were athletes. They did not practice - they trained - their bodies and their minds. This was team work at its best. They laughed, they cried, they challenged each other and pushed each other to be the very best they could be. I have no words to describe my pride... I think the dance speaks for itself. @madelinescrase and @luke_scrase you deserve every single compliment you received about this dance.
