My 2026 Knitting Plan (Delusion, Yarn, and Vibes)

I sat down to casually think about what I might knit in 2026 and somehow blacked out and made an entire knitting plan 🤭🧶

This is a carousel of knitting pattern categories, questionable confidence, and yarn choices I absolutely did not need but chose anyway. Sweaters, accessories, gifts, little guys, big guys... she's got range. Is this ambitious? Yes. Will I start 14 projects at once? Also yes.

If you love knitting, yarn hoarding (sorry, collecting), planning projects you haven't emotionally prepared for yet, or watching other knitters lie to themselves with spreadsheets and vibes... this one's for you.

Finished Object Friday! 🧶❤️

The Faaaaaaaaawn Top 🩵

My first ever test knit is officially out in the world, and I’m a little bit obsessed with her.

This is the Fawn Top by @kisskiss.rhinestones knit in Cardiff Cashmere Classic in Louis. I made a size 4, shortened the body to where I wanted it to hit, and used just under 6 balls.

This was genuinely one of the most fun garments I’ve ever knit. The construction is SO clever. There’s enough going on that you get to watch the whole thing come together in really satisfying little moments, but none of it feels complicated just for the sake of being complicated.

The built-in finishing. The hood. The tiny details that mean there’s very little faffing around at the end. My kind of pattern.

The scariest books aren’t always the ones with monsters in them.

Sometimes it’s loneliness. Family. Tradition. The things we explain away. Time passing. Or the possibility that you can do everything “right” and still get your whole life wrong.

I Who Have Never Known Men, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, The Lottery, Strange Pictures, Train Dreams and The Death of Ivan Ilyich all made something completely ordinary feel a little more unsettling.

Basically, books for people who prefer their horror existential. 📚

Five more knitting books I think you should totally buy… PART 3!!!

Apparently I’m becoming the knitting book person, and I’m completely fine with that. 🥹💕

Starting with green because it was the most requested colour. 💚🖊️

These are from my @justvanness1938 ink sample haul, and I’m finally working my way through all 53 samples.

I’m swatching them with a Speedball B0, a Pilot Iro Utsushi fine nib, and a Hocoro medium dip pen because I wanted a reference that actually matches how I use my fountain pens. I love the big, beautiful calligraphy swatches, but most of my pens are fine and medium nibs, so I wanted to see what these inks would really look like in my own writing.

Now I just need to decide which colour to swatch next. 🫟

I’m using Cardiff Cashmere Classic in Louis, and I cannot wait to get this on my needles tonight! ❤️🥰

I’ve featured Kiss Kiss Rhinestones in previous pattern roundups because I genuinely love Lea’s designs, so getting to be part of the test knit for this one feels very full circle. I’m so happy and genuinely honored to be included. 🥹❤️

Apparently my entire personality during this JetPens haul is saying “I’m really excited to try this” about every single thing I bought. And unfortunately, I meant it every time. 😂

This order got slightly out of hand. Kuretake, Pilot, Zebra Mildliners, Midori notebooks, Hokoro dip pens, nib holders, nib samplers and enough tiny stationery things to convince myself I’m about to become a completely different person with impeccable handwriting.

Some of these are completely new to me, so now comes the very serious business of trying everything and deciding what was actually worth buying.

WIP Wednesday Ep. 08 🩵

I FINALLY split for sleeves on my Step by Step Sweater by Handmade by Florence, I’ve been beta testing a new knitting app called The Nook, and I’m about to start the Storm Sweater by PetiteKnit.

Except… how the hell do you start the Storm Sweater? 😂

I have my yarn. I have my swatch. I have the pattern. I have read the beginning approximately 47 times. Someone who has made this sweater, please come explain it to me like I’ve never knitted before.
